Rocky's

Reviewed By barbberry - Rockford MI

Since our children were little, Rocky's has been a family tradition every summer. Now, we bring the grandchildren or we use the White Pine Trail and "bike for ice cream." Rocky's offers soft-serve, two brands of hard packed, several sundaes, dips, flurries, and other ice cream treats, along with Dole Whip for a lighter option. They've added an awning to shade the line and the picnic table. This is only a walk-up window, but there are plenty of park benches and picnic tables nearby and down by the river two blocks away. For true Rockford natives, a complete meal includes a stop at the Corner Bar window for chili dogs and then Rocky's for ice cream. That's a true taste of Rockford.

Had high hopes it was a cool looking place inside and stopped dead in my tracks. OMG styrofoam cups not only unhealthy for you, terrible for the earth. They weren't busy 5 workers doing nothing. Awesome looking espresso machine. I will get a latte in a mug right? WRONG omg how does this place stay in business. No mugs, well no coffee for us. Reviews on ribs were good let's get those to eat we were hungry even if we can't have coffee. Sorry, no food for you. We don't heat the ribs. Horrible experience why all the good reviews? Left to go to a better restaurant.

Stopped by earlier today. Busy place, motivated staff gets you thru the line rather quickly. Portions and cones were average in size, not bad, just not great. My ice cream was good, wife was not impressed with hers. Great location, parking close by. I will give it another try later this summer.

Ramona's Table

Ramona’s Table strives to use as much fresh, local produce as possible to create a variety of bold sandwiches, wraps, salads, appetizers, entrees, and more. We recently moved all operations to downtown Rockford. The new, expanded location is in a 100+ year old building, respectfully renovated with both historical and contemporary touches. Still operating as Ramona’s Table, we have expanded our offerings to include not only the many unique and delicious items we are known for, but also small plate options as well as a full bar. — In keeping with the local and sustainable emphasis on our menu, we offer a full bar emphasizing our craft cocktails, Michigan beers, and local and/or sustainably farmed wines. — While the restaurant is come-as-you-are casual, the catering and food choices are uniquely sumptuous. If you eat with your eyes before you bring the food to your lips, the cozy ambiance and remarkable creativity displayed at Ramona’s Table will win you over with its simple elegance and passion for boldly adventurous local food choices.

The McAllister sandwich is the best! My friend liked the Merry Mary sandwich. What I really like is the combos they put together with 1/2 sandwich and 2 sides in a round metal pail -like dish. It is a very casual atmosphere and we have the option of sitting on the deck overlooking the Rockford Dam and the bicyclers and runners on the White Pine Trail.

Bostwick Lake Inn

Established in 1910, Bostwick Lake Inn has that feel of the old summer place on the lake banks. Windows provide wonderful views of the water and wrap around the side, where they overlook a deck with a bar, seating and live music in season. Inside, there's a cozy, casual feeling of friendship and neighborhood gathering for food, fun and fellowship. Created by the culinary experts of The Gilmore Collection, the menu is casual, eclectic, and delightfully creative - with a focus on traditional and "new" American favorites. Whether you crave a burger or nice salmon fillet, we've got you covered! We\'ve revamped the space with a new bar, decor, service staff and attitude, while staying true to the atmospheric roots that have make Bostwick Lake Inn a West Michigan favorite for over a century. We've also added Finn's Shore Store, fair trade coffee and espresso, and our fun and funky N43º5'6" W85º27'2" line of t-shirts, hats, beach supplies and more.

Choice Steaks, Fresh Fish & Wild Game!

We opted to dine on the patio since it was a lovely evening. It was attractive and well landscaped so that it wasn't obvious it was overlooking a parking lot.

The drinks menu had a nice selection of local craft beers both on tap and in bottles.

The food selection was varied. Tbe nachos app came with excellent home made salsa which was refilled on request. We all selected locally sourced walleye and a blue gill sandwich special. The walleye was a generous portion. The sides of salad and chili (made with bison) were also good and nicely sized.

Service for the most part was attentive.

We will dine here again.

Jody's Restaurant

Reviewed By Fred_49341 - Rockford, Michigan

Jody's has a wide menu featuring steak, fish, fried and broiled chicken and an excellent burrito. Their most commonly ordered Items are the several listed burger varieties. While the burgers are not of the gourmet varieties, the flavor of the hamburger is second to none, and the price is comparable to the national burger chains. As a Rockford resident I have tried almost everything on the menu. I have yet to find anything that wasn't top of the line in a fast food restaurant.
