A visit to this restaurant was again one of the highlights of our stay in South Africa. Definitely the best meal in the region with calm, friendly, efficient and professional service. The food was nothing short of outstanding and we were greeted as friends notwithstanding we only visit once a year! We ate on the stoop deck on a warm November evening enjoying the food, the excellent wine from the vineyard and the sun setting over the distant hills - a memorable evening.

I am a regular, and yes, there has been a problem in the past year with service, I was pleasantly surprise yesterday with their service& a tasty Bobotie wrap! Their coffee has always been good! Affordable prices, trendy homemade food. Coxy fireplaces, red chairs on the inside, nice! What I do like alot is that one hardly wait long to be served. They know that most people are en route, needs a driving break but do not want to be kept waiting unnecessary. Well done Bodega De Vinho!

We had very bad service from the manager. The food was average. The place is beautiful . It was very sad because we had booked it for my husbands birthday. The owner has apologised but it did not really help a ruined evening.

Bourbon Street

Reviewed By JHDX - Cardiff, United Kingdom

Fronted by a semi-outdoor eating section shrouded in see-through plastic (a smoking area perhaps), this restaurant doesn't present a lot of eye appeal from the kerb. The inner dining area is more traditional. There seems to have been heavy investment in red velour. It's busy here and judging by the way the metaphoric piano stops playing and everyone turns around in their seats to eyeball as we enter, the place is jumping with locals. They all seem to be heartily satisfied with its grills offerings. The menu is long and reasonably varied but this is a steak house with plenty of cheap and tasty wine to wash it all down. The majority of diners have clearly got here early since by around 8.15 the tables are emptying. Nevertheless there's an interminable wait for our main courses (three prompts to the waiting staff). We believe our order was overlooked in the kitchen. The charge is denied. Just a feeling, but it might help the level of service you receive if you're a known local in this eatery. Maybe we just has a bit of bad luck. It happens. I wouldn't advise against eating here – but I shan't be returning.

This quaint little restaurant/coffee shop is hidden behind the Spar in Roberston. It is SO worth turning off the R62 to enjoy some delicious homemade food. The owner is a charming and lovely lady who obviously cooks with loving care. We stopped for lunch and I enjoyed the best butternut soup ever - smoothly creamy and delicately flavoured with homemade bread. The warm chickpea salad has tastes of Morocco and tender greens lavished with Feta cheese - scrumptious! Even your plain garden variety toasted Sandwich is served with a generous helping of warm potato salad and a garden salad.
There is plenty of parking in this quiet street, with some shady trees and a nice stoep where you can enjoy excellent coffee.
I haven't seen prices like Meerkat's since the 80's! 3 dishes for R75, and HUGE portions. Generosity abounds in this little gem of a place.

Probably the hottest day in Robertson for a long time; 42 degrees. So being welcomed in to a beautiful, air-conditioned dining room in the evening was a pleasure. The food was excellent as was the service. Prices are towards the high side but you still get value for money. All three of us had different things off the menu and they were all cooked to perfection. Will definitely go back.

So booked at Rosendal without Reading reviews because I LOVE their wine. Arrived almost an hour late, as we got lost finding the place, signage from the main rd is not great!
Unfortunately they had a power failure but were trying their best to make it comfortable and nice.
I ordered the prawn and Noodle starter which was a total rip off. R85 for cold, bland prawns and noodles.
My main, of seafood stew was amazing but they forgot to serve me the bread. I reminded the waitresses 3 times, but still nothing.
Their saving grace is the 2 bottles of Rose Pinotage we consumed !!
All in all, not sure I will dine there again.
