Treated my kids and ex wife to Dairy Queen in Rantoul back in June. They were busy but we got our ice cream very quickly. This isn't a typical Diary Queen as there's no inside place to sit at. They have remodeled in the past few years and they're not open year round. In my opinion best place to get ice cream in Rantoul.

Driving from Chicago to down state IL.
We wanted to stop at the Hardy's Reindeer Ranch.

This was ranked high on TA, so we stopped.

1. Worth the search: located in town, off the main street, tucked around the corner... You'd never see it from the main drag. Has a big outdoor eating area and a decent inside seating area.

2. The place was packed. They had a good turnaround time.

3. I had chicken fingers and cheese fries. 3 large, juicy fingers... Crunchy on the outside. Husband had a bacon double cheeseburger and clam strips.... He reports that the clam strips were just as good as Red Lobster.... An unusual menu item for a small town fast food.

Worth stopping again if passing by.

Clean family restaurant offers good selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Homemade soups are very tasty--I tried the tomato with cabbage. Mashed potatoes tasted instant, sorry to say, but all else was delicious, even the liver. Cocktails available. Surrounded by fast food places, this is a much better choice. A block in off the main drag, just past Walmart.

We were in town visiting family and since we now live in Texas of course we hit Monicals! The service was good but it took entirely too long for the pizzas as they were not busy. The pizza did not disappoint though! Yummy as always!

Under new management. Owner was there. Menu has similar food choices but breakfast is ala carte. Eggs and toast the add meat oh and anything you add to your omlette is extra. Like hash browns, come on. Inside looks and smells the same. Saturday morning place was packed all booths were full...we sat at the counter. Some of the servers were the same. The 5 guys (RUS) trying to cook was 3 too many. One guy had some skill. Ever the owner shook his head watching the antics. RUS is from "Princess Bride", don't loose you humor.

I have never had a bad experience at any El Toro restaurant. Great to have one in our little town. The food is always hot and delicious, and the portions are generous. Service is unfailingly FAST and the servers, while busy, are attentive. Sometimes we have to talk the kids into going someplace my wife and I want to go after church or something, but El Toro is one place they always quickly agree to. Wife and kids usually get the fried chicken chimichanga, while I mix it up between enchiladas, burritos, and my favorite, huevos con chorizo.

It is a rare occasion in which a “roadie breakfast on the fly” captures a traveler’s attention, giving pause to stop, observe and relish the joy of life and a job well done! Burger King # 15868 located on Champaign Ave. in Rantoul, IL is such a place!

At first glance, the curb appeal drew me in. Spotless, sparking windows with not a hint of trash anywhere. As I emerged from my vehicle, the dining room attendant/cashier was heading to the register. Tamira cordially greeted me with a smile on her face and a song in her heart! She stood tall at her station, entered my order and served my breakfast, tuit suite!!! Less than two minutes later, Voila! A superb, hot breakfast!

The dining room was meticulously clean, chairs in perfect order with BK Crowns perfectly aligned on each table. The beverage and condiments station was polished clean and well stocked. The only item out of place was the misaligned Manitowoc Ice Machine door mounted atop the Coca-Cola Beverage Dispenser. Everything else, in the dining area, and the restrooms, was perfectly clean and well organized.

Although the casual reader might find my focus upon infinitesimal detail boring to tears, please consider the following. As a seasoned traveler, I find it refreshing to meet a young food service person whom performs their job VERY WELL! This young lady is a Corporate Treasure! What many consider mundane, Tamira’s performance is inspirational! Every Burger King Quality Standard was met and exceeded. Congratulations to the Management Team, (especially Brent) at BK #15868 whom hired, trained and cultivated the skills which Tamira exhibits to BK Customers.

This is definitely not your typical "burger joint" ! This is convenience dining at its finest!

The staff was nice. They have free wifi. But their rating is only a 3 due to a roach I watched walk across the floor. I did not see any other bugs anywhere else though.
