We enjoyed the Carnival week at Putignano.
We went to Premiata for dinner, following Tripadvisor recommendation.
We found a couple leaving the restaurant just at the entrance. We asked how the food is, and their answer was "the best Pizza in Italy". Well... they were italian and it was the first good sign.
Once we got into the restaurant, we knew that this is the place for dinner.
Simple decoration but happy people enjoying the meal and contributing to an easy atmosphere.
The place was full and we did not have a reservation. But we decided to insist.
The owner asked us to wait 30 minutes (not an issue, we just got out and walked around to increase our appetite...).
Pizzas were really good and yes, the best we had in Italy during our trip.
BTW, one of the Pizzas was gluten free and still exceptional.
Two big pizzas, 1 salad, 2 big bottles of water, 1/2 liter wine and a lot of fun for... 33 Euros

Dinner here in this well hidden restaurant was simply magnificent. Beautifully prepared food, friendly and welcoming service. Mixed appetisers were fabulous, lots of little dishes brought to the table at intervals. Particular favourites soufflé, fried courgettes and the green beans.
Word of caution, donkey on the menu, so if you are squeamish, may be best to give it a miss.
Well,looked after, family meal at not an unreasonable cost. Charming, I would highly recommend.

We found this place by its rating, but it had no English reviews before. So here's one. Cicirinella is a nice little place, with very welcoming owners and waiters, who give excellent recommendations. The food was very good - we visited several top-rated restaurants in Apulia and this was one of the best ones, way ahead of more touristic places on the shore. Also the pricing is way more reasonable!
So if you want excellent authentic apulian cuisine from nice local people - drive by Putignano (it's a nice town by the way) and check it out.

After cinema (Suffreggates ) we went to Stefano of "Chi va piano" to eat his extraordinary panino of home-made bread with: Funghi e salsiccia, Gulash di pecora con cicorie selvatiche, Gulash con carne podolico and of course some vegetarian and vegan stuff, a kind of junk food. It sounds like music.
Together with a glass of fine wine and some good friends I have a meal of my own. And take some time for Stefano sometimes takes "chi va piano" to the letter

We come fairly early which was lucky as the place filled up completely as it got darker. We had some wonderful seafood starters - one of which was all uncooked: prawns, mussels, oysters... I sampled everything but prefer my food cooked! The portions are huge!...MoreGrazie mille.

Appena entri vieni avvolto da una nebbia di fumi da cucina che ti impegnano gli abiti... Si scende giù e ti ritrovi in un bel locale sotterraneo, molto caratteristico, tutto in pietra, mi è piaciuto molto, peccato per la gestione. Abbiamo ordinato una birra artigianale, che arrivata al tavolo, è risultata subito strana al gusto, dava palesemente di aceto con un retrogusto di umido, non faceva schiuma, per noi era andata a male... Abbiamo chiesto di sostituire la birra con un'altra, nel frattempo avvisiamo subito il personale che ha portato la birra dal titolare. Ci viene detto che è il sapore tipico di quella birra... Mah... E che non ci sarebbe stato sottratto il costo dal totale.
Eravamo 4 persone, ci siamo ritrovati a pagare 84 euro per un tagliere di salumi centrale, uno di formaggi, una tagliata da 300gr, 4 pezzi di salsiccia e 2 birre da 75cl di cui una non bevuta perché andata a male. Complimenti!

If you are near you Must to go.
Bautiful, calm and nice place with really good italian modern food.
Service very friendly and explained all 6 different gorgeus starters.
After that a really tasty pasta and a really good T-bone.
Assortment of desserts and limonchello for finnish. Just delightful.

We came to old money really early to have dinner and we were not sure if they were already open. The waitress with the long curly hair and glasses was the most friendly girl we have met in our holiday throughout Italy. The antipasti was so good. The pizza crunchy It feels like heaven! YOU SHOULD GO THERE!!!NO EXCUSES! JUST GO!

This is the kind of outdated restaurant that serves plates my grandmother could have cooked when she would have been an Italian mama. What we got on our plate was fresh and well prepared - but no more than that. Even the atmosphere of the huge place was straightforwardly cold & boring .... with even 4 men dining after a sort of curtain not to be mixed up with the rest of the guests. If this is the best in place, then Putignano is not 3-star dining place.

Sono stato in questa sala ricevimenti per un matrimonio. Posto ben tenuto, personale disponibile e cibo all'altezza dell'occasione. Non ho assegnato il massimo dei voti perché durante l'aperitivo i formaggi erano letteralmente coperti dalle mosche: una schifezza!
