We are a restaurant with Colombian and international dishes fused with the fruits of the Ecuadorian sea with a capacity for 30 people in a rustic place with outdoor tables something out of the ordinary
We really enjoyed the patacon here. We ordered one with beans and cheese and one with shrimp in a cream sauce. Both were absolutely delicious. If you are looking for some wonderful South American food look no further!

We came here twice, first trying out their cerviche (shrimp and octopus) which has plenty of seafood and the sauce was good (well balanced, not too citrus). Sure enough we have tried better ones in Quito but with the price and the freshness of the seafood, Carmita is a decent choice in town. We also appreciate with the efficiency of the service as order was taken quickly and so as the food to our table. The plantain chips were served warm which wasn't often the case in the other local restaurants. We also enjoyed the corvina (sea bass) and garlic shrimp dishes in our second visit.

I cannot say that this was the best Italian food I have ever eaten because I live in a city with great Italian food. However, this dining experience was the best I’ve yet had in Ecuador.
The location in a garden is lovely and the owner has taken great care to make the dining experience memorable. She joked and laughed with us all evening.
We had linguine with clams and spaghetti bolognese, a half litre of red wine and tiramisu to finish.
It was a lovely evening!

Etnias café is a charming coffee shop, close to the Front Beach of Puerto López (half an hour north of Montañita and 2 hours south of Manta city) created and managed by a French couple. For coffee lovers, you will drink excellent expresso or cappuccino accompanied by savoury or sweet French creps, home-made brownies, pies or waffles. Just next door, you can buy unique fairtrade ecuatorian souvenirs in Etnias handicrafts shop.
A very nice cafe in central Puerto Lopez, which serves various coffees, breakfasts & crepes. Go if you want to escape Ecuadorian food for a moment.
The price level is comparatively quite high and the opening hours seem to vary (I had the most success between 9-12!), but the quality is good and the service is great!

Bistro Garden founds its originality in a unique, fresh and informal ambiance. The best cuisine and all the delicious dishes prepared by our Chef make fresh and natural ingredients reach your palate with the flavors very difficult to match in the whole area. Enter into our menu, with a variety of Local Food, Sea Food with gourmet style, mexican dishes ans Italian pastas
Piedra Del Mar Hotel Boutique now only serves breakfast for $4. The breakfast is three options: American (eggs, bread rolls, jam, juice), Light (fruit, yogurt, cereal) and a traditional Ecuadorian breakfast. All breakfasts are served with good coffee. Throughout the day they serve lattes, cappuccinos and espressos and you can relax by the pool. I only had the light breakfast which was great and healthy and I can vouch for the amazing coffee!

Casa Vecchia is an Italian restaurant located in the small town of Puerto Lopez. Enjoy our home-made pasta, ravioli and lasagna in a quiet and relaxing environment.
Puerto Lopez is just a small fishing village, so don't expect anything fancy here. If you want to get away from the local food (fishes, patacones, etc), Casa Vecchia is a good option.
The food is nice and worth what it costs. Service can be a bit slow but we liked it so much compared to other restaurants that we went there twice in a 5 day stay.

We ended up going here a few times because the first time was so incredible, Mixto Encocado and Garlic Lobster (not Aussie prices so had to experience!) - great portion sizes and fair price for the flavour and service we got there.
Unfortunately each time after didn't quite hit the mark and ended up with a pretty dodgy stomach the next day pretty much everytime.
Its right up the end as you head towards the fishermans markets and pier - good location for lunch and really cheap prices for the serving size.
Highly recommend an encocado dish as the flavour is really good and the lobster was cooked perfectly.

Do not miss this gem on Puerto Lopez. A mere dollar on a tuk tuk will bring you to a chocolate (genuine chocolate) paradise. Beans are roasted in house, as we were greeted to the amazing smell upon entering. We ordered the brownie and two hot chocolates. The owners are very friendly and she speaks English. She let us sample some freshly roasted beans and a chocolate bar (dark). Worth every penny!! We even went back but they were closed :(
Thank you Chocolates Pacha for the great experience!

Great food with an ocean view! Bamboo walls with wooden tables and a sand floor. Very friendly staff who are accomodating to your preferences. Great prices too.

I ate here a bunch of times with my kids while staying nearby. The owner is very sweet and attentive. She offers a nice variety of foods, and make most of the dishes to order. With two kids, it is really handy that she has a la carte items. We really like her lettuce salads, which she washes in bottled water.
She serves breakfast, lunch, and an early dinner and her prices are very reasonable.
Her kitchen and bathroom are always very clean. The restaurant is located directly across from the beach, with two outside tables having great views. It is one block south of the Rio Pital Bridge.
