We had a light business lunch here. The place was pretty full on Friday (good sign!), but we managed to have a nice table outside. Service was friendly and very (very!) professional. ...And the main point: food was excellent! Fresh, delicious seafood in the typical Italian way: nothing fancy but everything is so-so tasty. Perfetto!

Raja

While not the culinary equivalent of Indian restaurants in, say, the UK or the US, Raja does a very good job of bringing tasty Indian favorites to Italy. The spice level is definitely geared to the Italian palate (not too fiery or spicy) but, if asked, the staff will "kick it up a notch"... Great and comfortable décor, the wait staff is outstanding, too, eager to help with selections and to offer their opinions of dishes on the menu. All in all, a very enjoyable and delicious meal.

We met the owners/chefs when they prepared a private dinner in our rented villa in Prato, and enjoyed 4 lovely Tuscan dishes. Next time we wanted to hire them, they invited us instead to their restaurant.
You´ll probably need a GPS to find the location; it´s in a private residential area, so it´s easier to park outside. There are a few stores on the first floor of the complex, but most of them are still empty.
The place is full of surprises, with a different style in every room. The kind owner gave us a tour to see the cellars, caves and ruins of and old miller, that gave the place the name of "The hundred holes". Being an "enoteca", they also offer a wide variety of nice wines.

Il Capriolo

In 1961, Mrs Ofelia inaugurated the first big restaurant in Prato,
‘Il Capriolo’: Tuscan specialities. Exactly 50 years later, and after a
short period closed, the restaurant has been reopened and it’s now
cared by the great-grandchildren of the ancient founder. Our intent
is to maintain the tradition characterizing the Tuscan food, thanks
to the big charcoal-burning grill, the wood-burning oven for the
pizza, and the research of local supplier for meat and vegetables.
In our opinion the past shall be respected but continuously renewed,
as well; for this reason in the menu you will also find dishes with
modern flavours and a slightly cosmopolitan touch.

This restaurant was amazing. The service staff were very friendly even though I could not speak Italian and made me feel comfortable. The food was great with the freshest produce used, making all the difference. There was a mixture of traditional and modern cuisine which catered for everybody. I have eaten here many times when I visited Italy. If you had to try anything, the pizza was the best I've ever tasted. I will always come back here when I visit Italy in the future.

Osteria Cibbe

Reviewed By Judith B - Monte Di Procida, Italy

Not usually open on Sunday, I was lucky to find Cibbe open on Mothering Sunday. I wandered in and reserved a table as the owner, Germano, stood filling freshly baked profiteroles with cream. I don't eat meat, but saw bocconcino di tonno con zucchini on the board outside, and ordered that. The tuna was tender, in a light creamy sauce, and the zucchini cooked just right. The food was served with a glass of Vermentino from the Grossetto region. Leaving the choice of dessert to Germano, profiteroles appeared, covered in a dark chocolate sauce. A delightful meal in a friendly restaurant. Wish now I had ordered the pappa al pomodoro, which smelled wonderful (despite being served in glass!)
