I live in Kenosha and shop here often. We also bring out of visitors here and they always love it. The wine and beer selection are top notch. After having lived in Italy for four years I grew a custom to fresh food and a great selection.

Scoops Ice Cream

Reviewed By cmhprh - Kenosha, Wisconsin

First, the address has changed. Scoops moved to bigger quarters. The correct address is: 5711 Eighth Avenue, Kenosha. (TripAdvisor right now has Scoops at 5819 Sixth Avenue; I'll get a message to them to update the record.)

Second, though, who doesn't love good, homemade ice cream? They have many, many flavors of ice cream -- some very specifically marked gluten free, and some very specifically marked soy/vegan ice cream. They have homemade waffle cones, regular sugar cones, and wafer cones; they have oreo cones (very good!), pretzel cones, cookie cones (looks like a chocolate chip cookie in the shape of a cone), and one other specialty cone that I've forgotten. They've got other treats and candy, as well.

The staff are cheerful and helpful. They know what they're serving, and they'll provide helpful advice if you're not sure what you want. And they do know their stuff!

I had a lovely dark chocolate blend of three chocolates, in an Oreo cone. The cone was very solid -- not what I expected! It held up very well. And the ice cream was smooth, creamy, and delicious.

There is both inside and outside seating, and the place was hopping on a lovely summer evening. What a joy to find a place like this! I honestly can't think of a single reason to give Scoops anything but top marks!

No matter what you get at Oliver's, it will be freshly made, very tasty, and of the best quality. I love their donuts and their cookies at Christmas time are so good! You can always recognize an Oliver's birthday cake when you take that first bite of the moist cake and delicious frosting!

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen

While vactioning, we had been to a Cheddar's in Independence MO. The food was good but it was SO LOUD we could barely hear each other. Which explains the two-year gap between visits to Cheddar's. But being hungry and not wanting to cook, we tried the local version. It was still loud, although not like the other one. And the salads - we both had the chicken pecan - were delicious. Even better than we remembered. The only down part of our visit was the service. It was lackadaisical at best. But I don't think that will stop us from visitin Cheddar's again when the mood strikes.

There aren't too many restaurants that are halfway between Chicago and Milwaukee so that's why we ended up here. The menu had a nice variety of choices. Good service, good food, and there was no problem when we lingered after our meal to visit.

La Fogata Mexican Grill

Time and time again this place serves amazing food! However, getting a reservation or table is next to impossible! They NEED to expand - again! I feel like they over exaggerate the amount of wait time - which drives people away. They’ve been in business long enough now to know it’s a popular restaurant and the “small” dining area isn’t cutting it anymore. PLEASE expand into your LARGE parking lot!!

If you think you have to go to O&H in Racine for good Kringle, think again. Some of the best is at Paielli's and reasonably priced. There are also many variations. The other bakery stuff at this family owned places also is generally well done with perhaps the exception of their bread which can be pricey and sometimes comes out of the fridge where it has been stored instead of being on the shelf fresh. That's too bad because on a good day the bread is also good.

A great restaurant offering big city atmosphere and quality in the heart of downtown Kenosha

Reviewed By paulwg2017

If you're looking for a place with GREAT atmosphere, GREAT food, GREAT bartenders and wait staff, GREAT live music, Sazzy B in Kenosha, WI is the place! Their head chef, Mary Radigan (of the legendary Radigan's Restaurant), has an amazing menu! The bartenders are awesome - serving custom drinks that are out of this world. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. They also have a fine selection of wines and beer, especially with adjoining The Buzz cafe, featuring wines, craft beers, coffees, panini sandwiches, etc. The music is great no matter what day of the week... they always feature live music - local jazz Americana, R & B,.. Check out the calendar online, but on the weekends, you can always count on great local live jazz starting at 8 or 8:30 pm. They also have a fantastic weekend brunch! This is not your average bar/restaurant. The entire event is amazing, and the prices are very reasonable. In a town where you can easily park on the block for free... The atmosphere and food are like no other place in town - you'd swear you were in downtown Chicago or New York. Check it out!

Stopped in for a quick bite and even though it was PACKED, we were seated quickly.
Our server was friendly and attentive.
For $25 we got stuffed!!!
I love eggplant Parmesan and ordered the sandwich I had soup and breadsticks too.
I didn't eat my fries that came with the sandwich, not because they weren't good. But I was stuffed!!
