Nydri (Greek: Νυδρί) is a town and a community on the eastern coast of the island of Lefkada, Greece. It is part of the municipal unit Ellomenos. The community includes the small village Rachi. The Greek National Road 42 (Vasiliki - Lefkada (city) - Amfilochia) passes through the town. Nydri is a popular tourist town. In the sea in front of Nydri are several small islands including Madouri, Skorpios, Skorpidi and Sparti. The island Skorpios is the property of the Ribolovlev family.

We have visited this family run restaurant three times during our 7th holiday on the island of Lefkas, and all our visits were perfect: the location, the service, the staff (authentic, interested and very friendly) and (of course) the diner and the wine. Especially our waiter Elina and the couple of owners were just perfect. We have visited many restaurants on the island during our holiday, but this one is the best one and we would recommend it to everyone for outstanding experience.

Had a lovely meal here just the other night... beautiful setting - on the beach... food was very tasty, well presented and plentiful... service was amazing and very non intrusive which meant our evening was relaxed. We have been and sat on the beach at the restaurant and just had drinks too again this is beautiful... we will definitely be visiting again for both s meal and drinks during our holiday..... ❤️

We went to the Pinewood after getting a recommendation from our hotel owner. The setting is absolutely lovely. We arrived and it was reasonably busy and got busier. The waiter arrived after twenty minutes to take our drinks order. We decided to give him our food order. Five minutes later the drinks arrived. Fifteen minutes and some bread appeared. Twenty five minutes and our starters got there. After another thirty minutes our mains appeared. These in themselves are not a problem as good fresh food has to be cooked. It was that one in our party had ordered a pork dish for his main in which the pork was cold. We discreetly sent this back and after fifteen more minutes a second arrived. This pork was also cold but he said 'I'll leave the pork'. When the waiter came to clear away it was obvious he hadn't eaten the pork and said 'was everything all ok' . We told him the second pork was cold whereupon he just shrugged his shoulders. Such a shame that they lost control of the service, the table next to us arrived twenty minutes after us but were served twenty minutes ahead of us. The food the rest of us had was nice so the restaurant can be good.

After Reading reviews was expecting more. The staff and service excellent, the complimentary dessert and drinks nice touch. The meatball stifadis were excellent as was the carafe of white wine but the moussaka was tastless, filling and a nice size but tastless, I think the waiter knew as well. I was so looking forward to this.

I really liked this Taverna. A little off the beaten track, which is always good. Away from the tourist throng in Nidri it was good to see lots of locals eating here!
The views over the bay and Islands is excellent - great as the day fades (no sunset views - wrong side of the island for that) but the colours are great - do take your camera!!
Service was good and at the right pace !! The waiters were great, and whilst not special - the food was honest and well cooked!!
The bill was a surprise - quite cheap !! No - very cheap!!
So a definite yes from me - a very enjoyable evening!!

Welcoming service and good menu choices including daily specials. We opted for a range including pizza, the tuna in sesame special, lasagne and spaghetti. The house lasagne was more like moussaka but the pizzas were really tasty especially the spicy one (vesuvio if I recall correctly). Plenty of competition on the harbour front but I'd recommend this one to try.

After shopping on a very hot day in Nidri, we stopped here for drinks. Great location right on the waterfront in Nidri for people watching. We had fresh orange juice and frozen yoghurt with toppings which was delicious and sat at the front watching everyone walking up and down. Service was good even though it was busy and the waitress was pleasant.

One of the motives for which you always come back to the Lefkada is The Barrel. Strategically located on the seafront, welcomes you with the wonderful view, warmth, friendship and appetizing odors. Here you find the best and tasty food, making it hard to fade what kind which is your favorite. Fotis and the staff are very hospitable and warm, like a family. The barrel in unity is all you need to make wonderful holidays and to make you come back with love and miss everything that represents the barrel

Ideal for a spot of people watching whilst enjoying a cold drink. We stopped here regularly as it came recommended and we were not disappointed. Friendly accommodating service and a wide bar menu from beers, cocktails and non alcoholic options for the kids (particularly the strawberry rush that proved itself very popular).
We also enjoyed a snack lunch on one occasion of baguettes, toasted sandwiches and burgers. The cheeseburger is much better that the generic photo in the board out front and the ice creams and crepes are excellent too.
Comfy seats, great views and excellent service and happy (4) hours to make it a good choice for a break.
