We were visiting an antique shop in town and I always try and ask the locals for good food recommendations. The owner sent us here with the comment, I have never had any bad food there! We were quite pleased too! Although rather small and you do have to go outside to get to the restroom, the food was excellent. The menu was creative and had lots of interesting options to choose from. To top it off---ice cream! We ordered their rendition of the Reuben and a ham and cheese on pretzel bread.. both were excellent. Would have given them 5 stars except for having to go outside to the restroom. We'll be back!

Yoder's Restaurant & Buffet

We have been to Yoder's twice now, both on Fridays to sample their Seafood Night offerings. The Salad Bar, Soups and Bread/Roll selections were fresh and very good, and most of the Entree selections were OK, but the Seafood Offerings were hot and cold. The Shrimp were very good (we did not try the Crab kegs), and the Fish was moist and tasty, but both times the Steamed Clams were very dry (plus too many had jumped ship, leaving us with empty shells), and both times the Mussels were just acceptable. We will return, but probably on another night other than Friday to see what else they offer.

Shady Maple Smorgasbord

Reviewed By candycorn1 - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

An intimate dining experience with 600 other people. We tried this restaurant based on word of mouth about the Lancaster County icon. Although it does feature good old fashioned Amish style food, it is a buffet style establishment. We stood in line for 20 minutes waiting to pre-pay for the meal, then stood another 10 minutes waiting for a table to open up. There is quite a diverse array of foods and the desserts are delicious but the total ambience is one of overweight and obese people ill dressed and crammed into one large cafeteria. There are shoppes to visit next door but we arrived at 6PM and they roll the sidewalks up out there by 7PM. The one good thing about eating later is that we were able to purchase some baked goods to take home at half price. I don't have to go back again.

3 dots equals average and this is what this place is: your average coffee shop. Well, I prefer tea and my latest visit was the second time I received a really poor London Fog. Snacks are wonderful--homemade muffins and cupcakes--but they are a bit pricey for a small town. I'll still go for coffee, which is probably once or twice a year, but I'll feed my new addiction for London Fogs somewhere else.

The Achenbach long john is one of the best bakery items in the area. My clients often request long johns if I am providing donuts for a meeting! There are several different icings available including chocolate and peanut butter. On Wednesday they often have a "wacky Wednesday" long john which are often cream filled!
I also enjoy the iced rings with raisins!
I've been enjoying Achenbach's pastries for at least 40 years and hope to enjoy them for many years to come!

I have lived within 15 miles of Town Hall for many years. Recently a friend mentioned they had eaten there. Yesterday 9-29-16 my husband and I ate there. It is an old fashioned restaurant with a small counter area. Also had many tables. The food was very good. I had meatloaf, mashed potatoes and cauliflower. My husband had pork loin, mash potatoes and bake beans. The portion was nice. Very reasonable. Our bill was $17. The platters served to others looked good. Down to earth food.

When I think of a bakery I think of fresh breads, pastries , maybe some homemade sandwiches. I definitely don't think of different flavors of pumpkin roll and beverages but that's what this "bakery" only serves. Don't get me wrong I love pumpkin roll I just expect more offering's from a Bakery.
