We used to love this restaurant but the past 2 or 3 times the food has been just average. Disappointing as the fun and quirky atmosphere has much to recommend it.

This a great little sandwich and bakery shop. The cookies and cupcakes are incredible. The have an ever changing selction of sweets. One of the peevs about this place is that they don't always have your favorites that day but it is a small gripe. It's not unusual for them to run out of their big sellers, so get there early! They have the BEST black and white cookies. If they have them, be sure to snag a few.

The deli sandwiches are great and the breakfast sandwiches are pretty good too. The have prepared salads as well. The service is fast and pretty friendly. There are only two or three small places to sit so takeout is the name of the game. When you're fishing on the Farmington or going on picnic, this is the place to get your provisions.

Clean place with quick service. A little tricky getting in and out, still a good experience. Being near downtown, the park and the college, on the main street (rte 44), makes it convenient to many different types of people; travelers, college students and residents.

This is a well-established Family Restaurant in the business but I would imagine well over 35 years maybe longer. Menu items include old favorites like pot roast Fish and Chips baked scrod. They make a great milkshake Nice desserts. The interior is from a time warp, knotty pine interior, maple captain chairs. Just a friendly place, always Chefnfly

My husband & I have been coming to this restaurant on and off for 20 years. It never disappoints. Fresh fish. Favorite dishes on the menu never change. We love the Buffalo Boom-Boom shrimp app. Crusty, delicious shrimp, mildly tangy sauce & side of blue cheese dressing with carrots & celery. The huge salad with all the fixings that comes with all entrees is served family style with two yummy dressings. Mix them together in a mug for a delicious combo. The stuffed seafood sampler entree is always a treat. Chunks of shrimp in the stuffing. Nice hearty portion. Full bar & excellent wine list. Romantic dining in a booth & family dining at tables. Friendly staff. Ample parking.

Decided to have dinner here based on their reviews on our way to Infinity Hall in Norfolk. One in our group just came from a bridal shower so she had just a hearty bowl of Pasta Fagioli. The entrees were Veal Parmegiana and Chicken Parmegiana with a very nice salad to complement the dishes. All dressings are home made. The portions were very generous with service by a young waitress with a great sense of humor. Definitely would stop here again when in the area.

Ate here on a Sunday afternoon after kayaking across the street. Super cute spot with outdoor seating along the main road. You order from an extensive menu on the wall and then sit down and they bring it over. They have pizza, sandwiches, wraps, salads (which is what I ordered), baked goods, and even sangria! Highly recommend. Cutest little town.

Having been to Naples Italy I can assure you that this place In Torrington is truly special and right on the money. Sure, it’s a bit on the pricey side but that’s what it takes to be fabulous. Everything is fresh and delicious. I wish it had tableside ordering but I’ve learned to accept their style because I’ve never been disappointed. Be sure to try the monthly specials !!

Sweet Pea's Restaurant

I had bought a Groupon many months ago for dinner in Riverton . The reviews had generally been superb. I called for reservations and was given directions . Some patrons GPS led them astray I was told, but we had no trouble. Probably a lovely drive from West Hartford but dark this time of year . Our server Julie showed enthusiasm and knowledge. I ordered based a recent trip advisor review. For choices all had unusual whimsical names. We started with the fit to be thai 'd crab cakes in a sweet N sour infusion. Wonderful. The garden salad was generous with shredded veggies and the sun-dried tomato dressing With or Without gorgonzola. I love cheese.
My entree was andouille unto others - a spicy dish with grilled shrimp , sausage, and Creole rice. As the previous reviewer noted just the perfect coating on sauce. My wife had salmon , the Norwegian night, pan seared and drizzled with ginger soy vinaigrette. Fabulous. Having skipped lunch we had a chocolate toffee cappuccino ice cream AND a marscapone lemon layer cake.
We enjoyed the setting and good very much. The house needed a guided tour since it is filled with antiques and I will request next time instead of longingly looking upstairs and hinting. Please check out food photos
