Muvattupuzha is a prominent old town in the midlands directly to the east of Kochi. It is situated at around 35 km (22 mi) from downtown Kochi. The town is a growing urban centre in central Kerala and also an aspiring new district headquarter. The town is also popular as the starting point of Muvattupuzha river which happens by the merging of three rivers – namely Thodupuzhayar (Thodupuzha river), Kaliyar (Kali river) and Kothayar (Kothamangalam river) – to form Muvattupuzhayaar. Thus, this Thriveni Sangamam or confluence of three rivers is called Muvattupuzha.

They won't accept cards so travellers please ensure that you carry cash when you visit this place.Me had biriyani today and as a biriyani lover can rate the chicken briyani only average.Also they use basa fish for fish biriyani,the price of which is only Rs.200/kg while most other restaurants use Seer fish or Motha in fish biriyani .

Pathetic experience eating from this so called joint ... My fellow travel mates please don't get fooled ... Please find better places and don't spoil your day evening....
I ordered a biriyani but got something ..Some rice with few chicken pieces ... Pathetic ...I would recommend never try this dish ever here again .....
When you have so many good options and why this pathetic option

Before Kothamangalam on Perumbavoor road is this nice vegetarian restaurant. The dishes, mainly South Indian, are fresh and tasty. The restaurant is also kept neat and with good Seating. Way to Munnar from Ernakulam, this restaurant is one of the best for vegans and after Kothamangalam the only town where we get vegetarian food is Adimali. I saw tourists heading to Munnar having dinner from here. The service is good, the cuisines are moderately priced and the restaurant has sufficient car parking space too.

Idly shop is budget restaurant where you will get all vegetarian snacks and items like Idly, Dosa, Masala Dosa, Chapatti etc, though named as idly shop. Tasty and cost effective. Those like Tamil Flavor, this restaurant is a good option in the midst of Town. Parking space is little constrain but can park your vehicles nearby

The location is practically the middle of nowhere. Plain and simple hunger made us look for a decent looking place to have lunch and we got this. Once inside, things were quite different. Clean water, good food and decent prices with very good wait staff. Excellent for a break and good food at decent prices on the PM Road. The Kerala meals close by 1400 hrs but you can get customized food at any point of time.
