The specials they have are always over the top especially fresh fish of the day. All this mixed with excellent service and a great happy hour.

Frank Sinatra had around 15 restaurants within the United States that he frequently went to for dinner. I have been to 3 of them including Gibsons Steakhouse. It has a lot of similarity to Halls Chophouse in Charleston, S.C. At Halls Chophouse, you are greeted by very friendly staff members. They have 2 floors of dining which gives you options. I started with their Caesar salad, and my wife had their chopped salad. We each had their prime filet mignon which was broiled to perfection. I had their loaded mashed potatoes which were the best I have ever had, and my wife had their parmesian truffle french fries, which she told me she had never had before, and they were excellent. They have a variety of sauces for your steak to choose from. We shared a dish of sautéed mushrooms, again the best. Their service does not get better. I also had a glass of Jack Daniels with some ice cubes and a splash of water. (Sinatras favorite drink). I can see why it is one of the 10 best steak houses in the United States as seen in Trip Advisor

We were wonderfully surprised by our anniversary dinner at the Charleston Grill. It is an elegant, but not stuffy or pretentious restaurant. It is a very spacious, light, inviting, wood-paneled place. It is not noisy, (they do have a piano, etc. after 7:30PM), and one does not look into a distracting kitchen. Diners are not rushed. The service is great - especially Andrew and Nellie who waited on us. A sport coat and tie are ideal. A button-down shirt is fine. Blue jeans would seem-out of -place. It is more expensive than some of the restaurants, but it is particularly great for a special occasion. Since it is popular, one should make reservations in advance.

We have been to many of the restaurants in Charleston, including Husk and SNOB. Our dinner, and evening, at Charleston Grill was the best we have ever had in Charleston, and every item did not contain pork or bacon, and there was no attitude. We had their now in-season soft-shell crab appetizer, which was superb! Our entree was sturgeon, which was excellent. We were glad that we asked for the sauce on the side, since the sturgeon did not need anything else on it. (The entree menu is limited, so one might want to check it out on-line first to be sure the items sound good.) (Since it is a restaurant in the South, we asked that everything be low salt.)

Our Tanqueray martini was good and seemed not absurdly- priced at $13.50. Some of the glasses of wine can be much higher.

All the recommendations we were given were excellent.

Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful evening!

Arrive early if you want a seat without a wait at 167 Raw. The place is very small but the food is simply wonderful. There are samplings of cold, raw seafood as starters including fresh oysters and beautiful cold cocktail shrimp. Various po-boy's and a fabulous lobster roll can be added to fill you but save room for their key lime pie which melts in your mouth. Service is great. All in all a unique dining experience well worthy of a return.

We picked this place based on the reviews. We must have chosen the wrong sandwiches because it was not worth the $30 it cost us. I had a roast beef panini with cheddar and my boyfriend had the chicken salad sandwich. I can make a better panini than what I was served. #disappointed

Graze

I had high hopes for this restaurant after reading reviews.
House made focaccia bread served on request. Very heavy and greasy Husband had pasta bolonese
that was like none ever had before. Normally ground meat and light milk in the sauce. This was chunks of meat with a heavy tomato cream sauce. Wish the menu said that! I had osso buco that was on a bed of risotto. And again heavy cream in the risotto that is not necessary when the arborio rice makes its own creamy sauce. Flavors were good but lamb tasted old, like it was made last week. Day old lamb is always better but not DAYS old. Both soups also had cream. I do love some cream but... not all needs the addition of cream. Cream should be added to enhance a dish, not overpower it. Ambiance nice, service good, but after going to the bathroom( filthy) I will not return. A gas station bathroom is in better shape. They need to gut this one!
So sad that the owners choose to ignore their bathroom. Makes me wonder what else they ignore... like cleanliness in the kitchen. I do wish I could have said nicer things about this place.
