Gastropub with international home cuisine with Brazilian music, blues, samba, jazz in rustic outdoor porch and garden. Individual dishes. It's the only restaurant that serves lamb in Morro de Sao Paulo, amongst other meats, poultry and sea food. Salad choices, cold cuts and appetizers are customized according to the season. Open for tastings, events and culinary experiments. Joy is on the House.

This place is a real find in Morro.
It`s a small, family run place that really hits the mark. It`s very decent, local food and very reasonable prices (at least in Morro terms!).
The restaurant itself is a semi-open place overlooking a little street by the Fountain. It`s only a two minute walk from the town square. It actually has a nice little atmosphere, the service is good and cheerful.
The food is simple, local and really good. Portions are a decent size and all seems to be fresh. Everything on the menu is R$15, apart from squid and fillet mignon which are R$18. Excellent value if you ask me.
Drinks are the usual pretenders. The Caiprinhas are good shouts too at only R$5.
For me, the best value for money in Morro.

Very simple and cute restaurant located at the main Praça. Quite small/med sized, not a whole lot of tables, scenic view on the main place, writings on the walls (customer memorabilia, thank yous, etc).
Nothing spectacular but the type of place that puts you at ease an makes you want to come back to.
The Menu is simple but interesting. Lots of pasta (very good, we had the Carbonara), Pancakes (equally good: we had the one with Ham, cheese, onions and Tomato), a small section with meats/seafood/fish, and a section for Deserts. Yes, crepes again. Still delicious, especially with chocolate, nuts and ice-cream.
Very pleasant service and with a sense of humour, por favor:)
Come here without expectations, to enjoy a simple and relaxed decent meal.

The gnocchi al pesto was close to perfect. The fettuccine al'arabiata was perfect. The waitress/hostess/owner convinced us to upgrade to the "buffalo mozzarella" (her words), so we were disappointed to find the bread topped with regular Brazilian white cheese. Our bill was miscalculated 10 reals in the restaurant's favor.

In Morro for 4 days, went here twice. Cheap, tasty, friendly and a nice vibe. The food was home cooked and tasty, highly recommended.

Toca do Morcego has a great view of the sunset but you need to get there early to get a good spot. Okay music, wi-fi, pricey and admission fee. I prefer appreciating the sunset at the Portaló Hotel Lounge which does not charge any admission fee, has better music and price and offers outlets all around.

We had a great dinner in Cantina Barolo. Away from the crowded and noisy 2nd beach you can find great quality food and service in this small, quiet italian restaurant. We had the menu with polenta, eggplant rolls and gnocchis with three different gravys, cofee and dessert. We loved it, everything was great. I would recommend it to anyone coming to Morro.

At my latest visit to Morro de sao Paulo I stayed again at Werners Villa Bahia. Very good as always. He recommended a newly opened Beach Club at the Praia da Argila in Gamboa, the Zahir Beach Club, This is a very nice location with a relaxing atmosphere and nice music. The highlight for me was the food. On three visits I had fresh fish and seafood, I than enjoyed homemade burgers with homemade bread and sauces.Delicious, as well as the Thai Curry, one of there many vegetarian dishes, which are a very welcome variety to the regular meaty brazilian cuisine. All this on one of the nicest Beaches on the island. Less crowded than in Morro, more quiet and a beautiful sunset. Highly recommended.

I loved the ceviche served with toast and the picanha Sandwich. Also my daiquiri was delicious. I didnt expect much when I got there but it was one of the best food I had in Morro.
