Rita Mae's Kitchen in Morgan City, LA is a quaint but amazing dining experience worth trying. Their famous chicken stew is unparalleled anywhere in anywhere in the South. Its inexpensive, incredibly food with a very loyal clientele. This may be one of Morgan City's best kept secrets. I'm back home in Washington State right now wishing I was there getting ready to tear into a plate of their food.

I had a small bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo and it was average.
I had the crawfish etouffee with potato salad and fried fish. The etouffee was not very good, needed more seasoning. Fish had a strong fishy smell to it. Potato salad was very good.
I don’t think I will be going back to Rita Mae’s.

I highly recommend the pecan chicken salad! The bread was delicious and the combination of craisins, apples, pecans, grapes and chicken salad was a great combination. It was fresh and well prepared. It was a lot of food for a good price.

My husband and I placed an order to pick up that was fixed incorrectly. My chicken quesadilla was dry with no onions or bell peppers and limited amounts of cheese. The chicken was over cooked which made this meal was very disappointing. I've had this meal before and it's been prepared correctly so I was disappointed because of the inconsistency with the dish.

The crab cakes are fantastic!!! I am never disappointed eating here! I can also speak very highly of the bartender, Sandra! She is famous for her specialty Martinis!!

Hands down some of the best Cajun Food out there! I love the Blackened Chicken Alfredo, I in fact judge all other Chicken Alfredo dishes I have based on Atchafalaya's. So far I have not had any that are better and only few have come close!
The staff here is your basic Louisiana Southerners, they are full of spirit and hospitality!
You will not have any eaters remorse here only Great Food!!!

I go every Friday morning, I get the captains plate. It comes with 2 very large pancakes. Best anywhere, so tasty with the blueberry syrup.Everything is made fresh. Includes 2 eggs, 2 bacon slices, 2 sausage patties & hash browns or grits, all of this for 9.95. If you want a breakfast to remember, this is the place to go.

I grew up in the area and Danny’s use to have several locations in the area. They are down to one location now in the Morgan City area. The chicken is consistently good but the best thing that they have going is the rice dressing; so good. Whenever I am in town I stop by just for the rice dressing.

The deli is small but offers big flavor for the dollar. We love the authentic Italian flavors. They have much to offer, soups, sandwiches, stuffed chicken, pork chops and so much more.

Don't waste your time or money.
I had three meat plate brisket, pulled pork, sausage with potato salad and macncheese.
Brisket fat fat fat no taste, pulled pork just average, sausage tuff, dry with little smoke taste. Potato salad looked like it was put into a food processor, ground up too fine with hardly any taste. Mac n cheese was the most unusual color and not very good. I really did not like or enjoy anything.
Now the building is a old Taco Bell, needs new ceiling tiles and some paint.
I do not recommend this place.
They have some good ratings on Trip Advisor but today was bad IMO.
Manager has offered to give me a free lunch if I try them again.
Thank you for the offer but I have to decline. I really did not like anything today. Sorry
