The menu is limited but whatever you choose will be delicious! Our group tried several entrees and everyone was very pleased. They accommodated a group of 12 easily with excellent service. The tile floors make the rooms a little noisy. The cost of drinks drove up the bill quickly.

Although a different Chinese restaurant in our area has been our very favorite restaurant for many years, friends suggested that we try Chef Chao because it's been their favorite for many years. So we did... and loved it! We got carry-out so can't comment on the restaurant itself but the dinner we had was excellent. We love egg foo young, and it's not easy to find in our area, so were happy we could order it at Chef Chao and it was the best we've ever had. We also had Kung Pao chicken, nice and spicy, Mongolian lamb, which was great, and shrimp with lobster sauce -- another excellent dish. All in all, a great meal and next time we'll try eating at the restaurant and see what that's like.

I don't like Starbucks coffee but I do love their salads, egg salad sandwiches and Thai Chicken roll ups. The food is consistently fresh and delicious and very healthy, with complete nutritional information on every package. It's my favorite place when I want a good, quick lunch.

Va de Vi Bistro & Wine Bar

Va de Vi translates to "It's all about wine!" in Spain's Catalan language. Of course, it's all about food, too! Chef Mike Fischetti's menu encourages diners to explore and share a variety of eclectic, international small plate portions. Bold tastes encourage diners to explore the large international wine list, easily navigated by tasting notes. Many wines are offered by the glass in addition to pre-arranged flights to allow diners to compare different wines and discover new favorites. A warm, casual elegance defines the ambiance. Outdoors, dine under an ancient oak tree or grab a table in the picturesque lane.

This tapas style restaurant with great wine pairings is probably one of the best go to restaurants in Walnut Creek. Always good. Everything on the menu is tasty, just know that it is small plate.

And really fun and good wine flights. Take a chance, I am almost always happy with the chance.

Solid benedict hash. The much vaunted coffee cake was light but at $5 per slice is really not all that great. The cinnamon roll is actually better. The bacon was not pretty but tasty and crispy. The coffee is pretty good. Overall an OK breakfast option if you are around the area.

The Park Bistro & Bar

The Park Bistro & Bar showcases only the freshest, local and organically grown produce as well as naturally raised meats and line-caught fish. Executive Chef Adam Carpenter has created an approachable, yet inventive menu, presenting a French twist on American fare. With a wholesome and earthy quality, many dishes elevate “comfort” food. Natural light from the romantic inner fountain courtyard, intimate alcoves, a large communal table and versatile private dining spaces. Rustic stone floors, natural wood tables, leather seating and an original art program create a warm and inviting, yet grand and inspiring, space that will create the most memorable dining experience in Lafayette. The Park Bar overlooks the recently renovated covered patio with an adjacent outdoor terrace featuring two fire pits offering both dining and casual lounge seating year round. The Park Bar offers guests traditional bar fare, aselection of artisanal beers and wines by the glass, and classic cocktails.

Just visited the Park again after a long time. The decor has been updated and the menu improved. The prices are definitely higher but the quality also seems to be much improved. I had the crab cake appetizer which was delicious and the Mary's Pressed Chicken for an entree. The chicken was perfectly cooked and well seasoned - the only disappointment was the relatively flavorless "creamed spinach" base. They have a full bar and lots of mixology options plus a surprisingly good choice of wines. Lots of parking plus valet if you want that.
