La Concha is one of the most perfect places to have breakfast in Mazatlan. You simply can not beat the view or the impeccable service. The breakfast buffet is huge and caters to everyone. Every single person that attended to us was amazing even if they weren't our server. They run this place like a machine and I didn't see any kinks. We thoroughly enjoyed every meal we had here.

Rico's Cafe

Rico's Cafe opened in 2000 as Mazatlan´s only cafe. Our simple desire was to inspire customers by offering an inviting place to enjoy Mexico's best coffees prepared by our expert baristas. Today we enjoy a loyal following of locals as well as tourists who seek out our homemade breakfasts, sandwiches, salads and specialty crepes. We also offer freshly-baked breads and pastries, frappes and imported teas, in addition to our coffees which we roast on the premises. Rico's terraces are a great place for groups to gather, our booths are ideal for private conversations and our long tables in front of the main bar are great for people watching and meeting others. Free high-speed Internet, music and personalized service make this a second home for many customers. You will leave inspired, and say "Que rico!"

I'm Mexican, so I cook Mexican food often at home. After a week of Mexican Food I just wanted something different. We stopped at Rico's and I ordered a Chicken Salad Sandwich. My Sandwich came with a side salad of mixed greens and vinaigrette..but the Sandwich...The Chicken Salad was overflowing out of the home baked thick toasted bread slices. The Chicken Salad was made with chopped nuts, celery, and raisins or grapes..I couldn't tell which since I ate it so quickly. It was delicious, moist and filling. My husband ordered french toast, eggs and bacon, and he said his meal was just as good. We didn't order coffee or juice, but we did sit close enough to be able to watch the staff cut up fresh fruits for juices, grind coffee and make up the orders. We will go back to Rico's next time we are in Mazatlan.

This is a fun touristy place, great if your looking for North American cuisine. We arrived just before noon, they asked if we wanted the breakfast or lunch menu, we got lunch. There were three of us, we ordered a Philly cheesesteak, a traditional cheeseburger and the blue cheese burger. The service was good, the staff we had spoke English pretty well. I am not sure I would ever go back, only because it didn’t feel like I was in Mexico. The food was alright, not fabulous but not bad. Great portion size for the price.

Topolo has the best service in Mazatlán.
The complimentary homemade salsa made tableside is delicious and fresh tasting.
The waiter noticed I was trying every chair at our table, he brought a short back chair from another set.
I could suggest they re-spring and cover the high back chairs. Spoke with other customers who had the same complaint.
Would recommend the seafood enchilada. The Mexican platter the mole sauce was delicious, the Chile poblano coating was soggy.

Loved the colourful decor. The best mango margerita ever!! Highlights were salsa and guacamole made right at the table and served with delicious fresh chips. Excellent food. We enjoyed the floor show with dancers in colourful costume and a lovely and personable singer.
We will certainly be back next visit!
The only problem was that I was too full at the end of the meal! Next time my husband and I would share an entree. ( if we can agree on one lol)

Carlos & Lucia's

Great Cuban restaurant toward the north end of the Golden Zone.

Reviewed By Dan Q

We happened upon Carlos and Lucia's while looking for lunch. Having a love for Cuban food we thought it would be fun to experience the Mexican take on this cuisine.
I had the pulled pork and my wife had the chicken with peppers. both dishes came with plantains and Cuban style rice with black beans.
My dish was fantastic. Rich savory pork flavor with a hint of chili that was soaked with sauce. After cleaning up the pork I used the rice and beans to mop up the remaining pork sauce for a simply heavenly finish to this fantastic dish. The plantains I usually try to save for dessert, but they were too good to restrain myself and were gone before I was done with the pork.
My wife's chicken was excellent as well. Moist, but not soaking in sauce, it was also distinctly chili flavored, but not spicy.
We were fortunate enough to be served by Carlos himself. He told us of his time in the States and some history of his restaurant. The place is a nice street side establishment that is mostly open air with lots of shade and fans to keep you cool in the summer months.
If you're looking for a local family run place to get some great food, visit Carlos and Lucia's. You will be delighted.
