We visited all the resturants in the Malia Old Village during a three week holiday and this was one of our favourites. The service was excellent and our swordfish steaks were cooked to perfection. My girlfriend and I ate here one night and immediately felt welcome by the waiter (who I think is also the owner). He was very considerate and attentive, even though he had a lot of tables to wait on etc. I ordered the sea bass, at 17.50€ I was not disappointed. One whole, freshly caught sea bass was deboned for me, right in front of me, and served beautifully. I would highly recommend anyone to eat here, couples, families, friends; but only if you want a bit of quirkiness! Everyone there that night enjoyed the entertainment - the waiter/owner performed some traditional Greek dancing with some customers!

Yes exceptional pizza made fresh in front of you and fired in a big open stove. Lovely thin and very tasty pizzas. The burger and chips were great too and provided in very decent portions. Lovely friendly staff and fresh beer. What more could you want on a hot day!

We would like to thanks for the atmosphere, the best crew in the world who served us, Aleksander and Aphrodite. We stayed in Greece a week but each day we visited Red Lion for dinner. All the meals we ordered were delicious. It short, everything was fu..ing awesome.

Had best meal in Socrates last night. Very friendly service, the owner is area character and quite entertaining!! Food was fresh and excellent and very reasonably priced. We were too stuffed!! to try dessert but the complimentary Melon and Raki went down a treat. Definitely recommended for amazing Greek food.

Ate here four nights in a row early august we were always the last people in the restaurant as it was so hard to leave, we would have eaten here every night if we knew it existed, the mix grill was by far the best thing on the menu but everything else we tried was still amazing, so fresh and tasty. There cocktails were also very fresh, tasty and well made but the house red wine has to be some of the best wine I've tasted, very natural with a distinctive smell and flavour.
The staff couldn't have been more friendly.
All in all the Petrino garden made our holiday so much better than we could have expected.
Thank you everyone at the petrino garden, we will try and come back one day!

Well here we go Again another two weeks in the lively
Malia, although the lively bit is not for us, but there lies a hidden gem .There are lot of good restaurants in the resort if you know where too look , but not many beat Gringos for the quality and generous portion of the food.Oh and the two ladies who serve you are absolutely brilliant and see to all your needs .if your looking for good food at a reasonable price then you need to try here

The food (especially fish and baklava) is very good and cheap. The atmosphere in this tavern is excellent -very good for family and friends. Owners are very nice and they can make you laugh all time. There you can eat traditional Creete food and spend time in amazing atmosphere - I recommend it for everyone !

Booking is essential at this restaurant due to its popularity. The food is excellent though with some different choices than some other restaurants. The food prepared in the outdoor oven is sublime with a delicious taste. Portion size was generous, though they did give us the remains to take home.

we had a lovely meal here, friendly staff. The meal was very tasty, piping hot and served with a smile. Meal was followed with free melon and Raki. aperitif. go here if you want to eat authentic greek food.
