We had to wait 40 mins for our meal (all tables were occupied and the waiter announced the timing upfront), but it was totally worth it. The burgers (5euros) and ribs (7euros) were absolutely delicious. They were playing different sport channels on the large TV's, so the atmosphere was nice too.

Dreadfully slow service. Our second came after being refused a booking even though there was ample space for our family. Service was impossibly slow, and didn't come with a smile, so we shortened our order to leave as quickly as possible!

Located on the main square in Liptovsky, a mere 200 meters from our superior apartment, we enjoyed dinner on both of the two nights in this northern Slovakian resort town. We visited as a family for dinner and were promptly served, with the majority choosing a pizza and being pleasantly surprised. Decent beers but a little disappointed that there were no cocktail options. Prices were very reasonable.

We came here as a suggestion of our host from Pěkná Vyhlídka.
The first thing we noticed was the open WiFi. The second and the most important the weiter, a guy wearing glasses very very kind.
We asked an English menu and we had it in less then 1 minute.
We served the local beer (Czech beer :) ) and some drinks including Demanovka (Horká, a MUST to try), fernet, becherovka and a wonderful ginger&mint tea. My wife ordered Pikeperch on basil sauce with chips and vegetable garnish. I tried, as a waiter's local recomandation "Halušky" (dumplings) with smoked hock. Wonderful food, very tasty and very fast served.
Prices are very fair.
If possible we will certainly return to this place.

We tried several places around here and this is by far the best. The food is really good, try the specials they were always good. Service is a notch up then the rest of the restaurants around. We came back a few times. Enjoy.

We've been eating at Strachanovka for the past few summers and we've always found the food tasty. The prices have been going up, the service is hit and miss and sitting outside in the summer inevitably means an endless battle with wasps. We always try their traditional Slovak dishes - halusky for around €5 - or if you fancy a range of traditional dishes in smaller quantities, try the sharing platter of Slovak specialities (€13) that can easily feed three people.
My absolute favourite is 'Zemianska Pochutka' (€10) - a potato pancake with a stew of sirloin beef, pork and chicken breast, topped with smoked cheese and bacon. Wash it down with a tankard of Kofola (Slovak version of Coke - less sugary and fizzy - but more refreshing).

nice place outside city center where to spend some good time with friends. the atmosphere is very nice and prices are low. The choice is wide.
