Limenaria (Greek: Λιμενάρια) is a village on the island of Thasos in northern Greece. The village numbers 2480 residents (2011 census) and is the second largest settlement on the island of Thasos. The settlement is a popular tourist destination since the 1960s, with a 1.2 km long strand of beach (Stelakis Beach) and a number of smaller coves and pebbly beaches just to the west of the settlement next to the village of Trypiti (Τρυπητή), being the main tourist magnet for the locality. The village is also popular for tourists around the island for a visible view of the Holy Site of Mount Athos.

The food was delicious and the service was great. I orderen cheese salad and octopus in wine souce. Both were delicious. Also the house wine is good. The service was fast and the waiter was very friendly. It is the first restaurant where we are offered two free Deserts. We first received a home made cake and then he brought us greeek yogurt with fig gem which was absolutly declicious! Oh, and for 4 people, with starter, main course and wine we paid about 60 euros, it is a cheap eat. We will certenly come back.

I am big big fan of lovely Greek cuisine, sea food in particular. I have been to many Greek Islands that have incredible fresh fish and mezes. Unfortunately Thassos is somewhat out of this league. Piatsa Michalis is no exception. Serving is fast, but the food is literally tasteless. All frozen then griIled very dry. I do not want to blame them for any reason, may be Greeks can enlighten us about this untraditional low quality cuisine in Thassos comparing to other Greek Islands.

As other reviews, small menu cooked daily by owner and his brother in law I think I had stifado, my husband lamb both cooked very well wine came our in an old decanter with small glasse, a bit old fashioned, but hey. Looks like the place is actually the guys garden. People we spoke to had done repeat visits. Prices around the same as some of the other restaraunts reasonable, no frills except the decanter! I asked owner his name and he said he was called Mr Terrible! Real name Ilyas I think, he had a tale of woe to tell. Overall food good, reasonably priced, a bit too quirky for me, but maybe that is my fault for asking too many questions

Family run taverna. Very busy. Had to wait 15 minutes for a table. Delicious Greek salad which was huge. Good lamb chops & souvlaki with great chips. Free dessert panacotta with chocolate garnache which was fantastic. Although service was very slow would recommend. Will eat here again.

The staff were a little disorganised when we arrived but things soon settled down.
We were here for the fish as we'd read so much on it.
Whilst I can't say we were blown away, we were very happy customers.
For the price paid we have zero complaints

We had dinner in the sunset light and it was a perfect timing. People are very accommodating and nice (which I believe to be one of the strong suits of Greeks in general), and the food is gorgeous and tasty. We had dorada and grilled octopus and we were both so satisfied with our choice! Also, I recommend you try a kantafi for desert, to end an awesome supper!

The food was awesome, we ate there 3 times, each time ordered different dishes and all were great.
The service was also excellent, everyone was really nice and professional.
The view is great at sunset, the place is right next to the beach.
Also, the free Deserts at the end of the meal are awesome.

Every time we passed this place before we visitwd it was busy...and with what seemed like a high percentage of locals.
They specialise is fish and we were given the option to select our own from their display; after first being explained what they were.
Everything was very good - the setting, the service and the food.
This would be a five rating apart from the fact the total bill (which was correct) was noticibly higher than other places we had visited locally.

This taverna has a lovely setting over looking the harbour, nice upmarket menus ( not much choice) so our expectations were high.
After walking past the taverna a couple of nights with what seemed friendly staff we thought we'd give it a try but, once we'd entered and order we were forgotten. They gave us the feeling that they wanted us to eat and leave so they could fill the table again. The food was ok but wouldn't go back!

A beautiful quaint taverna at The Maries just outside Limeneria. A short car drive away. We enjoyed a delicious light lunch and drinks. the service was lovely and food delicious. The village is also very pretty. We went on to visit the waterfall which was stunning.
