I have been to this restaurant several times throughout the years, and I always found it excellent. I recently had the chance to take some friends there, and once again I could say "You cannot go wrong with Baita Mondschein". Warm atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food; what more can I say? Thank you, Paolo! (Paolo Kratter is the owner).

Fabrizia created a Vegan food menu only for me!
Roberto found the complimentary wines!
The atmosphere was wonderful and the evening was the highlight of my 3 weeks vacation.
Thanks to Fabrizia I was finally able to eat something else than Pasta with Tomatosauce or grilled vegetables.
Any special food required, call in 24hrs before hand and you will get what your tummy asks for.
Also the standard menu looked great, the choice of wine is unlimited, over 800 different wines at your choice.
Highly recommended, don't miss it when you are in the area!

Recommended by our hotel it was an easy walk. Goulash was great. Really great. Green salad ok. Veal Wiener schnitzel was tender and flavorful. Potatoes were good but a little heavy on the garlic for my taste. Two guys near us got the House Wurst and it looked really good. Service was fine, English menus and staff we had spoke enough english for us to get along fine. We would go again.

Be sure not to miss this restaurant when in the area, it is just divine, pretty as a picture. The interior is rustic, cosy, & rather smart. The setting is a delight, surrounded by pristine fields, a well coiffured golf course, plus, the rugged, majestic, Dolomites. The menu features delicious, sophisticated dishes from the region, we had a fabulous dinner including perfect pastas & outstanding beef tartare. Friendly but polished service from the owner Paolo, & a well informed sommelier completed our wonderful experience. At the higher end of the price scale for the area perhaps but so worth it.

We live in Austria, so sitting for an Austrian meal (even food as great as Tirolean cooking) isn't always high on our list. On this evening we found ourselves here, and it was really and truly, way-above-average pizza.
Our evening began with prosciutto and melon, the perfect salty and sweet antipasti. The presentation (and flavors) did not disappoint. I ordered the pizza with Buffalo mozzarella; thin-crust, perfectly crispy, and with the right proportion of sweet roasted cherry tomatoes and cheese. My husband ordered Pizza Diavolo; the sausage was spicy, something not always found across the country. He pronounced his pizza, "delicious." With dinner we shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio, a light and appropriate summer accompaniment.
Overall, we departed the restaurant rather happy with our decision to dine here; and judging by the numerous "to-go" pizza boxes streaming from the kitchen, others find the food to be top-rate, as well.

We were just passing Sappada, wanting to make a coffee break. And boy what a break that was! After we entered the restaurant, smell was divine and realizing how many different profiles of people are eating at this place we thought the lunch would probably be a good idea.
The food was delicious, service amazing (even though they did not speak any English) and hearing a chef signing from the kitchen, was almost unbelievable. He must be enjoying his job very much. After the lunch, with coffee we tried some cakes and could not stop trying only one (actually we had two each). All cakes were freshly made and tasted heavenly.
If you're on your way through Sappada, break at the passage, where La Rustica Restaurant is, will definitely make your day!

We went for a long lovely walk all the way up to where the Piave river has its origins.... and back again. It was right in the middle of lunch and the place was pretty busy but nonetheless they were quick and efficient at Seating us and getting the delicious food out. The only problem was that when we had to pay the card machine wasn't working and we had to pay cash which we didn't think about. We managed to ask our guest if they had any money and it was a little embarrassing. What would we have done if nobody had any cash on them?? Wash the dishes?? ;)

We just wandered into the pizzeria with two kids who were very tired and very hungry. The staff ensured us that in 10 minutes we will have pizza and that they love hungry and tired children. Both proved to be true - and we kept on returning during our stay. In the end we took the whole group with us, 15 people altogether and we received the same great service and excellent quality meals. We highly recommend this place.
