Tradycja Restaurant

Reviewed By GarrulousGunther - Berlin, Germany

Decided to have lunch here whilst on a recent trip to Legnica, and so wished we hadnt.
All seemed to start okay, we entered the restaurant with only a handful of diners. The 'waiter', tidly dressed but sporting one of those god awful chinese mohecan hairdo's, took our order fairly okay however not understanding much German or English. We ordered a plate of Pierogi Ruskie, some Kartoffelplätzen and a couple of beers.
They came fairly quickly and when we finished thats where the problems seemed to start. I wanted to have a Apfelstrudel - and whilst the Customers to the left and right of us were getting their desserts after 30 mins the wrong one arrived at ours, 2 sorbets. Trying hard to explain patiently to the waiter that sorbet does not sound like Apfelstrudel and that we'd like to share so to bring to sets of cutlery, he trudged off to the kitchen.
20 minutes later still no dessert, then the cutlery came to the table, one set of course instead of two. oh dear. 10 mins after that and at last dessert came, and only one too! well at least he got that bit right.
Soon after demolishing the Strudel we reluctantly paid up and left. The waiter received a tip that was commensurate to the service - nothing.
All in all, pretty poor place with poor service. If thats what its like when a total of 8-10 customers are in a restaurant that can seat well over 100, whats it going to be like when its a lot busier? a Shambles thats what.

Nice Polish food though no duck or goose on menu. Empty at 9pm on a Saturday evening apart from a couple having a bit of a scene over coffee. One wall is covered in cartoons, some satirical, a few that might be considered politically incorrect.

Oberza Piastowska

I must admit I was in "Oberza" for a family occasion, so I cannot comment neither on the menu (the dishes were chosen by the person who organised the meeting) nor on prices (as I was, luckily, not the person who had to pay).
The restaurant is quite spacious, which makes it a good place for weddings and other meetings for large groups, but I wouldn't rather recommend it for a romantic date. The design matches the name "Oberza" (tavern) and is very traditional, with wooden elements and an interesting ceiling.
Food is also traditional, Polish cuisine (at least the dishes which were chosen for the meeting), but it's fresh, really tasty and portions are generous.

It's not obvious to use Qubus Legnica Restaurant if you're in the center. But they really do their best. Every quarter they change menu which is split: fixed and seasonal one. This time I tried the latter one: wild boar as a starter (very nice with baked apple and some wild mushrooms - it's a pity there were only two tiny pieces of meat there) and beef streak with papardelle and horseradish (you get the taste after some time). As always I enjoyed draught beer (Guinness). A bit expensive (35 PLN for the starter and 49 PLN for the main dish, 16 PLN/pint) but it was worth it. And their service is good (helpful but not intrusive). It's a pity that they skipped a shot of mead - it was such a nice accent!

We were invited to join friends at this restaurant, being in Poland, our Polish friends just love this place and its italian take on the seafood.
I found the food to be similar to what we get in North America and no real surprises there for me. But I can understand the attraction to our friends as this is a novelty in flavors.
Many business people eat there also.
Prices are excellent and the place is well run and very clean.
I recommend this reataurant for anyone who may be a difficult eater or need a break from Polish cuisine (who needs a break from Polish cuisine really??? yummy). There are no surprises and the menu is varied enough to satisfy all.

We expected some genuine Russian cuisine but the lovely waitress could not offer "the real things".
Strange enough but nobody could speak at least a few words in Russian.
Almost like a little excuse for this lack of authenticity there were some historic photos from Russia and pages of Russian newspapers on the windows. Nice try.
Do I need to mention that my wife and I were the only guests in "Little Moscow"?
