Food was very good with good sized portions and good quality ingredients. Good choice on the menu although fewer desserts to choose from. Quick and attentive service making the meal enjoyable and the atmosphere with the log burner lovely.

went there after being highly recommended by a number of people last Saturday. The food was very disappointing. The starters were fine but the mild beef curry was unacceptably hot, the chicken paella was a bowl of stodge unlike any paella I have had before, the desserts Chocolate mint cheese cake was fantastic but the pancetta with fruits was tasteless with a few grapes on the side and two of the smallest Strawberry's on top. We may have been unlucky as there are many good views but we would not go there again.

Pint & Post

Grade 2 listed thatched roof property built in the 1530's. Was originally the Post Office and accommodation for the Postmaster, only becoming a pub in 2001. the property still has a lot of its original features, low ceilings, beams, an inglenook and original bread oven. The pub sells homemade cooked food and a small selection of local beers and more, recently obtaining entry into the Good Beer Guide. Warm welcome awaits.

We have been passing The Countryman for a while and finally decided to book for lunch. Admittedly it was a mid week lunchtime so it wasn't very busy, but the welcome was warm and professional, the food was really delicious and the waitress told us that it was all locally produced. We were very happy with the whole dining experience and we will be coming back.

My cycling friends and I found this delightful cafe on a bank holiday Monday after cycling 50 miles from Kingsbridge in Devon. We had the 5 item breakfast as we were all flagging which consisted of a plate of food which was delicious and freshly cooked and at £3.50 represented excellent valve. The service was faultless, nothing was too much trouble, the only due side is it's a 100 mile round trip for or cycle club. Highly recommend, if we're in the area again we'll definitely drop in.

Cowslip Cafe

Our cafe serves a selection of home made dishes from locally sourced suppliers, many of our vegetables are home grown. We are open from 10 - 4.30pm every day. We serve a fabulous Roast on Sundays and hot and cold dishes throughout the week. Our cream teas are very popular too!

This place is difficult to find, down a potholed farm track well off the main road. Chose it from TripAdvisor ratings. Excellent choice as it turned out. Very busy but managed to squeeze us in. Food homemade, fresh and no scrimping on portion size. Recommend the elderflower presse. Also recommend booking to avoid disappointment as others after us couldn't be accommodated.
