Cowfish

Located inside a historic and beautifully restored 100 year old brick building, Cowfish offers a fun and lively atmosphere paired with excellent food and knowledgeable service. Our menu features hand cut steaks, local grass fed burgers, fresh fish and our innovative pastas and salads. All our beers are brewed on site by the Lander Brewing Co. Its popular lineup of refreshing, made from scratch microbrews includes beers that have won awards at the Great American Beer festival, the World Beer Cup and other competitions. Enjoy a romantic dinner in our candlelit dining room or a more casual dining experience in our pub. In the summer, we offer the added attraction of dining on our outdoor patio under a trellis of wild Cascade hops.

They have a great selection of organic coffees from a roaster in Jackson Hole. Whatever your taste preference there is a bean for you. They also have a nice selection of baked goods. Their mocha cake and coffee cake are quite good. They also have a good selection of gluten-free items. Service is friendly and helpful.

Excellent food, apparently run by students at the local Wyoming Catholic College. The service people can be inexperienced but the food is great, seemingly healthy ingredients, all scratch made. Extremely generous portions - my sandwich and house made chips is always good for at least two generous meals at <$8-9. Comfortable atmosphere although if little kids are using the climbing wall (which in Lander is not unexpected) the experience is a little bit noisy but still OK. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful gem in a remote area of Wyoming! The restaurant & bar are filled with historical items that reflect life of a "bygone" era. Linger and take in the ambiance. Our party of 4 ordered steaks that were grilled over an aspen wood fire which definitely adds to the charm of the restaurant. The steaks were tender and cooked to our specifications. Our server, Connie, was warm and engaging. The tables had candles and the dining area quiet...perfect for conversation.

Outdoor-industry based Lander has its fair share of bakeries and coffee shops, but for breakfast, it's hard to beat Middle Fork, with its creative menu and tree-shaded, relaxing patio. The blackberry cornbread French toast is the thing to order here: wonderfully textured and crispy, with just the right amount of sweetness. Service on the morning we visited was prompt and super-friendly. Portions can be large, which probably explains the open passage to the bike shop next door -- always an option for those needing to work off the sudden extra weight.

This place was amazing. Small facility but wonderful ice cream. Not a hide selection, but most you would want, I think. And they make specialty dishes, too. My husband had pistachio-almond and black cherry scoops on a waffle cone. You can see the size in the picture. I had the "German Chocolate Cake which was chocolate ice cream, warm brownie, hot fudge and caramel sauce, coconut, and pecans. You could customize it, but I had it all. This turned out to be our dinner, and we wouldn't change a thing.

Lander WY, a town of nearly 8,000 people has a 60 page tourist guide! We saw the Lander Bar/Gannett Grill and thought it sounded promising. We were quite pleased with the food, service and ambiance. The locals we met in Lander all spoke highly of the food as well. Plus, it was only a five minute walk from the Inn at Lander. So nice to stroll down the hill after a long drive! I recommend the Muy Bueno burger!!! Happy Hour too on the margaritas!

The Lander Bar

The Lander Bar is widely known throughout Wyoming and around the world as one of the few bars left that still offer a little bit of the flavor of the Wild, Wild West. Easily the busiest, most popular watering hole in town, the Lander Bar attracts a wealth of locals and tourists alike. Enjoy local burgers, great beer on tap, live music and a fantastic deck.

The beer was cold, and the drink menu was perfect as we settled in to watch NFL football. There was a convivial atmosphere that welcomed natives and travelers. The adjoining diner had salads, burgers, sandwiches, fries, and munchies with charges that would not break the bank. If you're looking for swanky, you won't find it here; but, if you like to feel comfortable in an unfamiliar town you'll enjoy it here.
