El Cerdo

Backed by 40 years of experience in various fine dining kitchens around the globe, Werner Kuhn set up El Cerdo KL, in the year 2005. The restaurant is well known to many as the No. 1 European style Pork Specialty eatery in Kuala Lumpur, focusing on traditional recipes. Having gathered many accolades for its outstanding food and service quality, the most popular item is "The Cochinillo Segoviano", a Spanish style roasted suckling pig dish that is served with the obligatory Plate Cutting Ceremony. Our slogan shouts out loud 'Nose To Tail Eating'.

We had the meat balls as starter, the spare ribs and pig tail stew as main. The starter is a bit salty. The spare ribs were tender and juicy and so as the pig tail. Service was very good. We also ordered a bottle of wine. And the bill was around 330 ringgit which I found it was totally worth it. The ambience was nice two. I saw that the next tables had the suckling pig and it looked very delicious. Surely we will try next time.

We had an entourage of 7 folks meeting up for the first time as my best mate proposed to his GF. The food choice was great from the usual bar bites to their spicy finger licking vindalooo fried rice. Would give them thumbs up for the taste.
We sat outside and the ambience was nice.
Their staff was courteous, witty and friendly . I forgot the dude with the handlebar mustache name but he was a great sport. As they had a full house the food Delivery was slightly slow but they gave us a tray of shots as a complementary buzz .
Nice place and will definitely return.

This is one of the pricier cafes in KL. The food is quite good and portions are about average, but you pay a premium to eat here. A pet hate of mine is when ordinary eating establishments don’t include tax and service in the prices. I expect that practice at upmarket hotels and restaurants but why do it at places like this? Why not just include it in the price, so the price you see is the price you pay like most other places of this type do.
Well as a well traveled tourist I can answer that question- it’s used to lemon-squeeze tourists, to extract a little bit extra, so I’ve deducted two stars for that.
Apart from that niggling issue everything was okay, service was very attentive and efficient and the atmosphere was pleasant. Clientele are mostly western tourists, so that would explain the lemon squeezing. Helpful tip - this practice grates on customers nerves, why not just adjust the prices upwards.

Antipodean Cafe - Tan & Tan

Antipodean Cafe only uses quality coffee beans roasted at our own Cafes by Indonesia's top specialty roaster, Merdeka Coffee. Why is our coffee so good? Because Merdeka Coffee only purchases coffee beans directly from our partners, who are small-holding growers, rather than going through the brokerage system. At Antipodean Cafe, we work hard to offer a uniquely "antipodean" style cafe food menu. Our favorites include a BLT on sour dough bread, double salmon fish cakes, Burmese shredded chicken salad and of course a range of delicious and healthy breakfast choices for all ages. Cake and biscuit choices include Carrot Cake, caramelised apple and cashew cakes, shortbread, raisin loaf, date cake and so much more! All our cakes are baked in-house using recipes handed down by famous Kiwi chefs (and relatives).

I come here quite regularly. the location is great, not far from KLCC and KL city center.
They have a lot of options to chose from. However, my favorite is the Spinach with feta cheese scrambled eggs. and if you're in for a little dessert you should try the Banana Bread with Cheese & Honey.
The coffee is good and the service is fantastic.

The Steakhouse

The Steakhouse is a 40-seater steak joint along Changkat Bukit Bintang and adjacent to The Whisky Bar. The beef is imported from Australia and you can choose between the aged Black Angus and Grain Fed. Thereon, choose from five cuts - medallion, tenderloin, rib-eye, T-bone and striploin after which you choose your sauce (bearnaise, black pepper, red wine etc) and style of potatoes (baked, mashed, wedges etc).

Opium KL

Introducing Opium KL! Established on 12th July 2014, this unique outlet focuses on Asian Oriental delights with a twist; such as Phoenix Dumpling, Fern Leaf Salad, Crispy Duck Noodles, Wagyu Beef Rendang, and the signature Beef Brisket & Tendon Stew just to name a few. Inspired by the Opium regimes of the east, the interior speaks for itself. Furnished with age-old artifacts such as an opium bed in the Rose Room, opium pipes and huge Chinese wine pots displayed vividly at the Communal area, the outlet aspires a 1930s-1960s look and feel. It's slogan, Eat Drink Man Woman takes a more subtle approach to distinguish Opium KL as the place for people to unwind and focus purely on the food, conversation and quality time.
