We were recently camping at Silver Lake. Experienced a rainy & cold night so rather than cook breakfast we decided to go to Kirkwood Inn for an early lunch. Our server, Jessica was so sweet & personable. The food & drinks were great. We shared a Hot Pastrami sandwich & fish tacos. Both dishes were awesome.

7800 Bar & Grill

A comfortable, relaxed lodge with a full lunch and dinner menu of home-made food without the ski resort prices. This is where locals eat.

This was the best place we ate at in Kirkwood. There is not a lot of choice but they had really good food and were super friendly. Top service and just very warm and welcoming. Would definitely go back.

Kirkwood General Store

Minimal selection of cleaning products, coffee, milk, eggs, cheese ... lots of beer, though. I expected more given the very limited options in this area, some distance from South Lake Tahoe. If you come renting a place, bring groceries.

We visited this restaurant twice during our stay at Kirkwood Ski Resort. It is a laid back spot with friendly servers, and great food. Happy hour is from 3 to 6 pm for drinks, and food. We enjoyed the food, and on the dinner menu, the portions are large. Come hungry with an appetite, and leave satisfied. It’s a short walk from lodgings, and one of the few spots within walking distance. It has a great view of the mountain, which adds to the ambience. It can be noisy, but it’s in a ski resort. Go there, and enjoy it.

The Wall Bar and Grillo

This place has gone so far downhill they are in a canyon. Do NOT come here unless you want to wait over an hour for over priced microwaved food.
I had the flat bread and was told it would have BBQ chicken and jalapeño. Nope. It was on par with a microwave dinner pizza.
My husband had the chicken sandwich which was dry and bland.
Never ever again!
Service was terrible also. We were ignored repeatedly and lied to.
