Delivered by the cruise down the river we were met with beautiful weather and a delightful setting. The wedding hosts organized a sumptuous bbq with a great selection of meat and salads. Easily seated at the picnic tables under cover or out on the lawn the staff ensured drinks were delivered to all the guests despite the crowd. If you ever have a wedding or a function use this place. Thanks what a great day. Oh yes and there is Uber to take you back to your bed after.

Trading since 1890 and named after Tipperary Legend & Hero. Matt the Thresher was one of Irelands first GastroPubs set up by Tony Ryan founder of Ryanair and GPA. Matts Birdhill is now run by Jimmy & Charlotte Lyons who also own the awarding winning Matt the Thresher in Dublin city centre. We serve food from 12pm to 9pm seven days a week and have a full bar licence. Our food is soucred locally and is freshly prepared. Our managers Eoghan & Edith along with Head Chef Avinash Auckal and all the team look forward to welcoming you.

Stopped off for lunch in birdhill off the Motorway.
Venue is a pub that serves food most of the day. Staff are very pleasant on arrival. Food was good and reasonable on the day.
No WiFi that I could find and venue was tidy and clean. Rest rooms could be checked more frequently.

We arrived at the start of the Killaloe traditional music festival and the place was hopping! It is brilliant to experience Irish Friendliness at it's best in very traditional surroundings. There are more touristy places around but the Anchor wins hands down for the welcome you will receive. Even though she was up to her eyes in organistion of the groups the landlandy - Ann - still had plenty of time to talk to us. Bar staff were great too.

Vey efficient, straight talking staff ensured our choices were exactly as described along with the wait times. We had no problems in getting re-seated as there can be a draught when the door opens...The food was piping hot and the portions were substantial. Great pint here also.

We are regular visitors and have never been disappointed. My wife's favourite is their vegetarian curry, which tastes really good, mine is their beef stew. Desserts are fresh and delicious and their coffee is better than almost anywhere else. Pricing is OK. Perfect for late lunch

I used to eat here very frequently back in 2006 and 7 and 8 and it was always unreal then, I ate here recently after being away for a few years and I was shocked to find that the standards are really after dropping. Its such a shame, the food used to be of a sublime quality and the flavours were spot on but recently it just has lost its pizzazz. The flavours are off and the quality seems to have gone with it. I guess its a haard task to stay good over a long period. but they should go back to the high quality and the full flavours that they were reknowned for.

Arrived by boat on the Shannon at Scariff harbour. Tuamgraney is a 15 minute walk. Found Nuala's by accident had a lovely lunch and came back for dinner. Very friendly staff and excellent food - great choice of regular dishes and daily specials. Returned on our next list to Scariff and still the same excellent fare.

I ate here with a group of girl friends last Saturday night ( my second time in last two weeks) we wanted to eat out somewhere that was relaxing, unpretentious & guaranteed good food and atmosphere. We got all that and more! The food was excellent and our server was very attentive without fussing over us. We arrived early and were the last to leave. I can highly recommend this restaurant!

Went to the Pipers Inn for meal with friends. We all chose from the Christmas menu which had something for everyone’s tastes.
The Hot Seafood Coquille starter was absolutely gorgeous.
The Cod I had for main course was cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Plenty of tasty vegetable side dishes too. Everyone else loved their mains too.
The Apple & pear crumble with a light creme anglaise for dessert was the perfect end to one of the best meals I’ve had anywhere for quite some time.
Brilliantly attentive waiting staff too which made for a perfect night out.
Eat here and you will not be disappointed!
