Restaurant Maria is a large traditional Greek Taverna on the Harbour Road, Kefalos beach. Maria is a family run restaurant run by Maria, George and their sons Ilias, Tony and Dionysis. George is a traditional fisherman who is still going out on a daily basis after 30 years. The restaurant is particularly popular for its fish dishes. It is well frequented by locals who travel from Kos town to eat fresh fish. Open from 11am till late. Seating for over 100 diners in a large glass fronted dining room just 10 metres from the sea.

We came by for dinner and thought we could find local dishes but we were not impressed. The salad was fine but the kleftiko I thought would be great was not. The mushrooms were canned, the peas and carrots from frozen and the meat itself was buried under a nondescript white layer of something I couldn't identify.
Service was fine but the food below par.

Just returned from Kefalos and this restaurant is brilliant. Camilla makes amazing mojitos and is constantly refining the recipe. All the food on the menu was lovely but the meatballs are amazing. We are a English Cafe based infront of Hotel Zeus, situated on the main road in Kefalos just past Jims Supermarket and Stamatis Rentals. We offer a wide range of food and drinks, we also offer fresh handmade rolls, sandwiches, fruit and fresh salads. We pride ourselves upon the service we provide to our customers and will do our very best to ensure all needs are met and exceeded.We are situated 5 minutes walk from the beach overlooked by beautiful Kastri Island which is clearly visible from our Seating area out the front.Why not come down to T42 today and try one of our many options, be seated comfortably, served quickly and be surrounded by the outstanding views that we have to offer!

A great way to start the day be it with a full English or something more traditional like a Greek salad. Dave and Gayle are the friendliest and most welcoming fun couple and the food they serve is excellent.
Great banter and chat with the two of them too. Highly recommended.
They even loaned us their snorkelling gear for our two week stay and they have a book case full of Reading material that they happily let you borrow.
Will definitely come again.

Was surprised when was brought starter that we didnt order,but ate some of it ,consisted of bread garlick dip.tomatoe dip,,was ok,,,did order sea bass,,whitebait,which was nice,the tomatoe soup could have been better as tasted like packet..with added touch,,the salad and jacket spud was nice, all in all enjoyed the meal,but a smile when serving would have been more enjoyable.

I visited Dave's Riveside Cafe almost every morning during my week long stay in Kefalos, Kos - every morning breakfast was fresh and delicious and cooked to order which when away on holiday can often be a rarity. Dave the owner was so accommodating and knowledgable of the local area. I would definitely recommend visiting this place. Whilst I did not stay for lunch the friends that I was with did and they rate this just as highly.

Our family Taverna opened for first time in 1 May 1987 since then every first of may we are back to serve you our dishes which Antonis and Stella prepare everyday for our customers!!We hope that every person who comes in our place enjoy the greek hospitality and our great athmosphere!!Our menu is not the biggest you can imagine but we guarantee for the quality of the materials!!

having just returned from Kefalos, I would reiterate that this is best taverna in town.
Ate here several times, every meal lovingly prepared and served, never been disappointed. The welcome is friendly and sincere, and the experience is always relaxing. Recommend.

This is a great traditional Greek taverna, with a twist food is great , daily specials , Sunday roasts , Harry's wife is the cook , most of the people there were repeat customers , as well as repeat holidayers harry knows everyone , and has his own inimitable style in greeting people , serving and making people smile ! Great evening so good we became returnees !

I ate there two nights in a row. The service is incredible, those guys are so funny. I ate grilled octopus with vegetable and in the mean time a was looking on an amazing sunset. The view is fascinating. You should go there!

We discovered this restaurant on our visit to Kefalos and weren't disappointed. Food was freshly cooked and different from the usual Greek cuisine. We were staying in tegaki and travelled back there again during our stay. The prices were the same as the other same same restaurants but the quality and different dishes on the menu were amazing. You won't be disappointed. The views are amazing as are the friendly and professional staff.

This is a lovely restaurant with an amazing stretch of beach in front - sun beds free when you eat and drink there. The giant beans are lovely. Coffee not great though so drink beer!
