We stopped by for breakfast on our way from Green Bay. Totally packed, but there were two stools at the bar. Food was delicious. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.I had a Veggie Skillet. HUGE and delicious. Hubby had Sirloin and Eggs. He was disappointed in his sirloin...just a hamburger patty. He said he should have had the steak...but all in all, we'll stop again.

Don't expect car-hops when you go to Dick's, but do expect reasonable prices for yummy burgers, shakes, ice cream and more! I rated the service lower than perhaps they deserve because the teller recorded a burger with no pickles for me, but DH's burger and mine both came with pickles.

Kaukauna Coffee & Tea

My wife and I discovered this eclectic coffee shop on a visit to the area to attend a Packer football game a year ago. In addition to the outstanding coffee, baked goods/food offerings, and very friendly efficient service the homey unique atmosphere creates even more appeal. We enjoyed it so much last year we returned a few more times on a just completed visit this year. The specialty drinks they prepare have always been very consistent which we especially appreciate. It's easy to see why this establishment is so popular with the myriad of locals who visit on a regular basis.

Service was slow. Margarita was nice size but sweet. The waiter could not tell me the difference between the 2 margaritas that were on special. Chips were warm & fresh but salsa very thin. My burrito and enchilata were hard to tell apart and seved luke warm at best with no guacamole nor sour cream. The taco was hot. The fajita was not sizzling but warm and tasty.

Very good atmosphere. They pour over every cup of coffee made. My husband has turned into a coffee snob because of this place. They have really good coffee. They have really good pita/sandwiches, too. They serve it with hummus and chips or a strawberry spinach salad. Both are amazing sides. I love this place.

We get the cringles, doughnuts and cookies from here and each one is great for home or work. This is a bakery and not a restaurant. But the items they make are awesome.

What a gem to have visited. Our dining party leader recommended the lasagna and let me tell you it was phenomenal. We also ordered up a pizza and it was a knock out. We had plenty that we took home with us and the 2 of us raced to eat the cold pizza the next day. Pepperoni, pineapple, & jalapeño was out flavor. Bother the lasagna & pizza had sauces that were very authentic. I could tell they used wine in their sauce & thank goodness they did. If I make it back I am trying something different because our party is 9 all raved about what they were eating.

Van Abel's

Reviewed By Chelsea42 - Northern California

I was recently introduced to Van Abel's by friends who live in the area. Seems it's a local tradition, the Friday night fish fry. Especially popular with large families. The place was packed and we waited about an hour to be seated and I was told that was to be expected. We waited at the bar and talked to everyone around us. Everyone seemed to know each other because they've probably been coming here for years. The food was good, perch and pike, breaded and fried. Homemade cole slaw, potatoes. Everything very tasty and the experience itself worth the price of admission.
