Just an another Rosso restaurant. They offer lunch special during the weeks and normal a la carte ouside the lunch time. During the lunch there is also dessert buffet which is quite nice (it had mini-donuts, candy, fruits, almond cake when we visited there)

I got nachos as a starter and absolutely not enough dip sauce for those - both products were straight from the grocery shop. Hamburger bun was not good, the steak between it was ok. Well, the food was the special portion for people, who has S-card and uses hotels a lot. I would personally prefer kind of “home food” more than hamburgers.

I had a lunch and dinner in this place. Restaurant is offering beef and burgers mostly, lunch time there is home style buffet. Lunch was basic home cooked meal offering couple of choices. Salad was versatile. Coffee and dessert was included.
On a dinner I had smoked salmon burger. Dish was right size, not too small or big. Smoked salmon would have been better without smoking but otherwise burger was good. I got free nachos and salsa for starters. Beer selection was small, just couple of different styles from Finland and other coutries. Wine list looked better.
Service was welcoming and friendly, bit over trying as usual nowadays. It was weekday evening and restaurant was almost empty. Interior was comfortable including hard wood and dim lights. Background music was today's radio pop. Price level was modest, food good and overall experience was all parts solid. This is one of the few choices to eat in Kajaani.

Scandic Kajanus next to beautiful lake is Kajaani's best hotel(I would say 3,5 stars) and this is their Restaurant, that also is their breakfast room. We had dinner with my colleague and both left satisfied. My Reindeer Salad(13€ starter, 19€ main) with baked cheese was tasty and fresh and service was friendly. Not the most inspiring interior, but good choice if you are staying in the hotel

I’ve been visiting Hospoda Koruna last four Christmas. Quite ordinary Finnish small town pub with decent beer selection. It’s part of S chain so there might be some theme weeks now and then. It’s located in the heart of Kajaani, by the Raatihuoneentori. There’s no better place to find something decent beers to drink in Kajaani.

Calm atmosphere will make you feel relaxed and different tea flavours with aromatic scents definitely adds a nice effect to that. Scents are not strong until you go inhale the variety of glass jars full of exotic types of tea :) Delicious truffles and cakes.

The family owned bakery in the heart of Kajaani has been running for over 100 years. In addition to the bakery shop with a great selection of Finnish style bread, sweets, cakes, pastries and other treats there is a small cafe. Be sure to try especially the Finnish style rye bread called Puu-uunileipä and the tar bread! The selection changes according to the season and before 10 AM breakfast is served during weekdays.

Lovely and cosy bakery to take with you all kinds of breads and pasteries, or to eat in with tasty coffee of tea. In the summer time there's also seats and tables outside with a counter out there.
You have to try the bread and the chocolate made with a hint of tar! Very tasteful cakes too, one can buy a whole cake to go. Beautiful flavours, not too expensive, mostly joyful service. Accepts common credit cards too.
Worth a visit and tasting! Sometimes open in Sundays and on special occasions. Look up on Facebook, they are active there too.

I have to admit that I am not a Sushi lover but I want to be quite objective in review, It is a very small place and really only a take away restaurant, nevertheless the place is clean and modern and immediately gives you confidence that the owners, know and care about their product. Having confessed that I am not a lover of Sushi, the owners really demonstrate that they Know and care about their product. I had one of two noodle dishes and a section of sushi, they were professionally prepared and sushilovers may enjoy, for me I was left hungry and had spend 50e for two people, I guess this is sushi. I am really glad however that threes more choice in Kajaani and i wish this restaurant good luck and am pleased to have this choice here. The menu is quite small, so I find it hard to see myself visiting regularly.

I visited the cafe today and was a little disappointed. For what I had heard of it, it didn't meet my expectations. It did have delicious cheesecake though. Hot cocoa was delicious aswell even though I don't usually drink cocoa that sweet. The place itself was small, maybe even too small and a little messy to look at. Service was good and polite.

Ullan unelma is bakery, coffee place and there is also shop where you can buy baking decorations. Atmosphere is so nice, little bit vintage style.
There is different desserts,cakes and coffees. Also something salty snack, like warm bread and you can choose what you want inside of bread..
So beautiful and delicious place
