Jyderup is an old town with a population of 4,163 the second largest in Holbæk Municipality (1 January 2015) in northwestern Zealand, Denmark, and part of Holbæk Municipality. It is positioned roughly halfway between the larger cities of Kalundborg and Holbæk on the west and east, respectively, and is surrounded by forest and farmland. The town is bordered on the west by the lake of Skarresø.

This is your classic Danish inn serving excellent food. Nice setting and lots of atmosphere. The wine list is not comprehensive but fully acceptable. My tip: Try the deer steak (if available at the time). Or try the classic Danish sunday lunch.

We eat here after a recommendation from the head chef at Noma. Our expectations were obviously high - they were exceeded.
The food was excellent, one of those meals that inspired us to take notes about the flavour combinations and many photos of presentation. I won't spoil the surprise by telling you about the food, suffice to say we will repeat next time we are in Copenhagen (that says a lot as there are many top class restaurants in the city centre).

Vesterlyng Café offer you the best selection of Danish and exotic dishes made from the best local ingredients, located with a view to the sea. The café is open to the public although located within the campsite. Family friendly dishes including seafood, Galloway beef from the Vesterlyng area as well as mouth watering desserts. Welcome!

Virkelig et besøg værd, når man er i nærheden. Du kan få skøn hjemmelavet mad, luksusburger, bare en kop kaffe med kage eller en lækker snack. Alt tilberedt fra bunden med friske råvarer og det kan smages.

Adskiller sig ikke fra mange andre bagere. De har et stort udvalg men mange ting smager ens, kvaliteten er meget svingende, lørdag kan en giffel være supergod, med god krumme og perfekt saltet, søndag smager smager den som pap.

My wife and I passed through here on an extended bike tour and were rewarded with huge portions of great food at reasonable prices. The owner while not speaking much English, was very friendly and we managed to communicate a bit with him. Not "Danish" food but if you want a good meal check it out.

Denne resturant har super flot smørrebrød, super sød servering af indehavernes datter. Som var rar og venlig.
Lidt synd de ikke har gjort mere ud af fronten på restauranten. Med lidt parasoller, blomster, mm kunne de uden tvivle trække flere kunder ind. Deres frokost kan varmt anbefales, og vi kommer der igen. Vi hører netop til dem som ikke gik ind i baghaven, fordi siden ud mod vejen ikke havde en eneste kunde.
Hvis de kunne få kunderne til at sidde ud mod vejen, så kunne de få flere kunder ind. Vi kom her for første gang fordi, vores venner ville der ind. Og det kunne vi godt forstå, vælger du et stjerneskud, så får du mere end de fleste kan spise, assorteret smørrebrød, som jeg fik var perfekt.

Nice castle, nice service, nice ambience, disappointing food.
The four course menu did not turn out as hoped for. This is not a review of Dragsholm Castle's gourmet restaurant but of the more relaxed 'Spisehuset'. Nonetheless, the menu looks appetizing using local ingredients from their own garden. Therefore it was a disappointment that the food came so boring and tasteless.
Cold potato soup with cauliflower, smoked pollack and pork shoulder with cabbage. The pork was the best serving but still just adequate. Nice home made bread, though.
For dessert, the rhubarb pie was a laughable tasteless presentation of the kind, you would expect to find only in a discount supermarket.
The coffee was thin and disappointing as well.
Not worth it.

Cafe Habibi, started in 2016 by students from Jyderup Højskole, and is housed in the old bank, Skarridsøgade 29 in Jyderup.<br>Cafe Habibi is a socioeconomic cafe, a association for which you can join and volunteer.<br>Cafe Habibi is carried out by volunteers and receives revenues from general cafe operations (coffee, tea, cake, sandwiches, tapas, beer, snacks, wine and soft drinks) as well as cultural events, Concerts and Exhibitions.<br>Cafe Habibi focuses on organic and as far as possible local food.<br>Any future profits should go to social and cultural initiatives that can strengthen Jyderup as a living trading city and the unity of the city.

A social Enterprise cafe in Jyderup offers great coffee, with atmosphere and food at a good price. This is the year of hyggelig, at least in the English speaking world and the Habibi cafe is a good place to sample it. Right across the road from the Railway Station.
