El Triunfo Coffee Shop & traditional local bakery is housed on the lower level of the most beautiful building in Murillo, to the left of the church and on the corner off the main square (blue).
Open daily from about 5am-7pm.
Owned and operated by the lovely Sandra & her husband Alfonso, El Triunfo is the epitome of local charm, hospitality and cleanliness!
This coffee shop is a must for travelers seeking information about anything related to Murillo including transport to and from the town..
It is also a great place to meet the locals.
The direct bus to Manizales (6am) crosses Los Nevados National Park in about 4-5 hours and departs from El Triunfo daily.
A truly amazing ride!
Murillo is the only country town on the north face of Los Nevados National Park and a great off-the-beaten-track place for adventurous travelers.
The weather can be cold!
Hiking, trekking, walking, Waterfalls, hot springs, horseback riding, farm visits,,,, and more!
Say "HOLA" from me!

Coincidimos con la apertura del sitio por segunda noche.
Enclavado en plena Zona Rosa de Honda, House Chicken es una excelente opción para comer algo antes o durante la rumba.

Maybe it's because we've been travelling for a year in South America, but typical Colombian restaurants like this one are just not the best...
My boyfriend had the pork in orange sauce, which was fairly good. I had the fish in coconut sauce - avoid, it was like fish with a Bounty bar grated on the top! All dishes come with either patacones (fried banana) or chips, and a small salad if you ask for it. Everything is fried, and there are no vegetarian options. But service was quite good, as were the fresh lemonades we had, and we got a free little dessert, which was nice. To be fair, you're in Honda, a very un-touristy place, so you can't expect international cuisine! This is probably one of the better options of the restaurants available.

Un sitio entre flores y jardines ambiente tranquilo y fresco.especialidad en pescados y mariscos ..contamos con una capacidad aproximadamente 80 personas. Sabor costeño. haga de su estadia un inolvidable recuerdo...
Mrs Katleya is running this nice place. She is coming from the Colombian coast and is bringing all her past experiences to prepare excellent fishes and seafood. The restaurant is outside but in the shadow. Good sign too, a lot of locals are coming there for the lunch. Katleya's husband loves to show the house which is an historical house (1884) built by a Americans-Cuban engineer who was in charge to build the railway crossing Colombia.

The location is good just beside the Magdalena River, In the heat you can enjoy the River breeze. The food is OK . We asked for four different types of fried fish. We didin.t want the typical Viudo de capaz ( Capaz fish soup).
Served with plantains and sadly pre-maid frozen yucca.

I really enjoyed this restaurant (two nights in a row) and recommend it highly. A fine selection of traditional Colombian dishes, very affordable. As noted below, good and large juice drinks besides. El Tizon is just one block off the main highway through Honda (east of the Aquatic Park / Hotel). Charming open patio Seating. This is the kind of place I really enjoy in small town Colombia. Marco and his wife (I can't remember her name, unfortunately) are wonderfully personable, too.
