This is a tiny little restaurant which caters to the locals. They serve fried chicken and sides, and some barbecue items. This is the real deal - decidedly not fancy, but finger lickin' good.
This is the opposite of a chain - run by real people, invested in their business, and popular with locals.

Staff cranky; not great customer service. Went in around 7am and the doughnuts were far from fresh. I can only say they are busy because there is not a Starbucks nearby.

Several Dairy Queens that we have stopped at while on the road were out of one or more items that we wanted to order. Surprise! Here in Hardeeville we finally got to order and eat what we wanted at a very clean location with great, friendly service, and close to the highway for easy on and off the road. Such a friendly, efficient place. Wish we had one like this near our home.

Driving from Savannah to Charleston, we sought a quiet non-touristy diner for lunch. Got it. White tablecloths, shrimp in a basket, many local patrons. The service was prompt, gracious, and helpful. The food was good, a real value. For us the large selection of mustard sauces on the table offered extra fun to try each with the shrimps.

Stoped her on my travels. Conviently located right off interstate 95. Spotted it while fueling up and decided to try. Had some of the best fried chicken I've had in years. Wonderful menu and prices, will definitely stop back when traveling through that area to try their other items.

After a long day of travel, we came here for a late and good meal. And we were not disappointed! The food was very satisfying, the service was personal and friendly, and there was a wood fire going in the fireplace! The country store was full of Christmas items, and we bought some new decorations for around our door. What a great start to the Christmas season!

I usually stop at Gwen & Franny's when I'm staying over in Hardeeville. The sign today said "Closed from December 4 until December 11. Sorry for the inconvenience.". So I quickly checked Trip Advisor and saw Mi Tierrita was well-reviewed. Definitely an opportunity to try something new.
It's a basic, no-frills place but the food was very good. I got one of the chef's specialties: Enchiladas Mexicana ($11). A moose of platter. Enough for even big eaters, like me. They warn you that it's "spicy" (they really mean "hot"). But it's not unbearably hot. I washed it down with a house margarita ($6). A Yuengling would have done just as well ($3.75).
I got the steak enchilada. The steak could have been more tender, but I've had worse. I still thought it was a very good meal.
As others have noted, the wait staff could be more friendly. The service was good, but they don't seem to try to build a rapport with the customers. Someone needs to tell them that they will get better tips if they would!!
Gwen & Franny's has some competition. If you're not in the mood for fried chicken, give Mi Tierrita a try.

First of all, be aware this restaurant is connected to a BP gas station!! The staff was friendly and helpful and our food was good. Fluorescent lightning, tacky little booths, serve yourself! Don't think you are going out to dinner!!

This restaurant has ok Mexican food but the real surprise is the quality of the pizza. It's the best pizza in the area. The meatball sub is also tasty and very inexpensive. The restaurants appearance could use some work but the staff is friendly and service is quick.

Stopped by because of the good reviews. ..Nothing special. Mediocre food and dirty space. Waisted 25 minutes looking for it since my Map it couldn't give me correct directions.
