This review is a little long overdue. I just wanted to write and say thank you for your fine contribution to helping me through a long hospital stay. T
I had occassion for an extended stay at a nearby hospital where the food isn't exactly like home cooking so we looked you up for Delivery and was very surprised that you delivered right to my door at the hospital. Delivery was timely, friendly and the food was delicious...all of it...every time we ordered. Thanks for your help in nourishing me with as close to home cooking as I could get at the time! It was as good as when we have dined in.

The beautifully restored Ancaster Mill boasts a picturesque and Historic setting. The Dining Room features floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views of Waterfalls and naturally landscaped Gardens. The interior decor accents the authentic look with warm earth tones and large stone fireplaces, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Ancaster is home to one of Canada"s most diverse and productive agricultural regions. With seasonal offerings inspired by Landmark Group's Earth to Table philosophy, Ancaster Mill's menus offer impeccable local ingredients from neadby farms and food artisans. The Ancaster Mill beverage selection compliments this with featured signature drinks and an expansive Wine List, including several by-the-glass selections.
Quality food is hard to come by in Hamilton area. The atmosphere enhances the dining experience. We went on a Saturday night. The evening and food well well paced. Great recommendations by the waitress. Had the special which was sea bass. Others had steak which was tender. The description of the brunch would get me back there again.

Because of West Jet's crappy flight times from Hamilton to Calgary, we had to stay in a hotel in Hamilton one night to catch a flight at 0608 the next morning.
There were only 2 restaurants close to the hotel we stayed in, the Keg & another one & its name escapes me. It didn't look appealing so we chose the Keg.
It was a Sunday night at 1730 and there was already a line up to get in. We had about a 30 minute wait to get a table.
Since it is a chain restaurant, our expectations were pretty low, but hey, we had to eat.
First of all, our server was beyond outstanding: friendly, funny, accommodating, knowledgeable...I could go on. Her name was Madeleine, so if you go here, ask for her section.
My wife ordered the steak special and I had prime rib.
I live in Alberta, home of Alberta beef, some of the best beef in the world. Both our meals must have been imported from Alberta to Ontario. They were both absolutely delicious. Some of the best horseradish I have ever had; it is so hot, it comes with a warning.
We shared a dessert, mud pie I think, we loved it.
After the wait, it was a perfect meal, absolutely no complaints and the price was reasonable, before adding all of the Ontario taxes.
Would I eat here again? Definitely, next time we go to Ontario
Would I recommend it to friends? Definitley

2017 Holiday Hours:

Please note, Edgewater Manor will be closed Dec 24th, 25th, 26th and Jan 1st, 2nd.
4 of us out for a Saturday night dinner and once again Edgewater didn't disappoint. Have never had a bad meal here and the atmosphere is second to none. Had the choice window seat at the window in the front of the room just by chance and allowed us to have a great conversation while watching the weather outside. Had the very healthy serving of the prime rib special and was done to perfection. Tasted even better for lunch the next day since I couldn't finish it all. Highly recommend to call ahead and make Reservations.

We had a group night out here. We had the separate room for the party. They were under staffed and seemed to be way out of control. Waited forever to get any food. eventually brought apps however NO PLATES. about 45 minutes waits for the apps. ordered drinks and again took forever. over an hour and finally food comes out in sporadic form. again numerous people had no plates. We got up to grab some plates that were stacked in the corner and the waitress quickly took them away saying they were the wrong plates. Have to say everyone was not happy.

Everything here is amazing. Period. Have been using this restaurant for birthdays/anniversaries/date nights and still our favourite restaurant: also a restaurant that has made me a favorite with my friends and sister. Various incarnations of fois gras, the delicate melting of beef cheek and tongue, the subtle umami of chicken liver brûlé, the delicate fat and salt of the bone marrow all serve to prove the talents of the staff! Wine picks are always great taste. Much recommended.

We basically paid $30 for a cup of cooked chickpeas, a cup of cooked rice, and about 2 cups of cooked cauliflower.
That, and 2 samosas (which were absolutely amazing!), some basic naan bread, and a single chipati.
Given the reviews that his restaurant already has, I was expecting a little taste of India when we ordered it the other night... but unfortunately it was just average, so I am rating it as such.
I would go back if somebody invited me to eat there with them, but I would not suggest this restaurant to anyone I know that "likes Indian food".

Chefs Fraser Macfarlane and Georgina Mitropoulos opened Quatrefoil Restaurant in May, 2010. Since then, the restaurant has been named among the top 10 best new Canadian restaurants of 2010 by enRoute Magazine, and among the top 10 best new restaurants of 2011 in Toronto by Toronto Life magazine. Quatrefoil Restaurant is also featured as a prime dining destination in the 2011 edition of Where to Eat in Canada. Located in the quaint community of Dundas, Ontario, the restaurant offers contemporary French cuisine in a charming heritage home turned modern eatery. Macfarlane and Mitropoulos, a husband-and-wife team, met in the kitchen of Toronto's Scaramouche Restaurant, before heading to Europe to seek out new food styles and experiences. Together, the pair has cooked in some of the best Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe, training under notable chefs such as Marco Pierre White, Gordon Ramsay and Gary Hollihead.
From the moment my wife and I walked in the front door, we were treated to an amazing experience. The food was interesting, creative, cooked perfectly, beautifully presented and delicious. The service was warm, genuine and enjoyable. Lucas specifically was wonderful. Sarah, a sommelier in training, did an outstanding job guiding us through the wine pairings with a smile. This was a very special night out for my wife and I. The staff at the Quatrefoil made it perfect. Amazing. We will definitely be back for our next special occasion and if you haven't tried this amazing restaurant in Dundas yet, you need to get there soon!

Good food and great service. It open at 11.30 am. No Reservations taken. Be there early as it gets filled up soon with the lunch time crowd. Great sea food and burgers and craft beer. Small place but cozy. Just a couple of tables downstairs and upstairs can accommodate about 20 to 30 people I believe. Check out the great menu. Their Southern fried catfish and Breaded Lake Eerie Perch were great. Very friendly staff. large portions too.
But one disappointment. I forgot my best scarf on the seat and tried calling them around 3.00 p.m. No luck. You cannot leave a voice mail. Phone keeps on ringing and no one picks up. Kept trying for four days continuously to see if they found the scarf and gave up. Thoroughly disappointed. Why do they even have a phone?

I would not have known this was here if I hadn't been told. Even as I pulled in I really had to look for it, which seems contrary to normal business as this would reduce trade. The service was great, friendly and engaging. The food was very good, although slightly higher priced than other establishments. In all, a place I will definitely return to.
