We were looking for some good traditional Korean food and found this nice place with a heartwarmingly kind owner, even if she doesn't speak English. The Bibimbap was very good and the prices moderate (8000 Won p.Person). Worth a visit!

N35°13.818' E127°38.708' By the misplacement in the Rough Guide of this restaurant as a pension (minbak) we came to know the owners by means of sign language and a digital translator. The next day they gave us free coffee and we noticed guests eating nice food. We decided to have dinner that night.
Still without effective means of communicating, we struggled with the Korean-only menu and pointed randomly at two dished within our price range in August 2014. The secret was revealed on our table. We ordered soup, vegetable omelette (we love) and many gimchi dishes, some new to us.
Meanwhile the owners’ family gathered around the next table and started cooking potato, meat and squib rings. Soon they started sharing it with us. We liked the squib with the soya sauce very much.
We enjoyed the food and hospitality of Joh-eun Sesang restaurant. Recommended.

N35°47.470' E128°05.258' This new restaurant on the crossing of roads from both Bridges to the Ssanggyesa temple looks new and oversized. Moreover, completely empty when we visited it in August 2014, although for us it was not the first time eating in an empty restaurant during low season in August 2014.
The restaurant offers many galbi meat tables, but we settled for nokdubindaetteok, a vegetable pancake and gamjajeon, a potato pancake. Both were excellent with nice gimchi dishes alongside. Although the owner did not speak English, she enjoyed our present in her empty restaurant and offered more gimchi dishes. Recommended.

매화마을에 들렸다가 청룡식당에서 식사했는데, 차로는 10km쯤 떨어져 있습니다. 식당 바로 앞에는 섬진강이 흐르고, 강따라 자전거족들이 많았습니다. 식당은 오전 9시경 방문했는데 조식으로도 가능한 것 같습니다. 제첩회와 제첩국 모두 깔끔하고 소박했으며 맛있게 먹었습니다. 제첩이 화려한 맛을 가지고 있지 않기에 깔끔한 맛을 좋아하는 사람이라면 누구나 맛있게 먹을 수 있을 것 같습니다. 메뉴판에 중국어, 일본어, 영어가 병행기제된 것으로 보아 외국인 손님들도 오는 것 같았습니다. 정말 외딴 곳인데 어떻게 여기까지 찾아오는지??? 신기했음.

하동읍에 있으며 주변에 주차공간도 많습니다. 커피 뿐만아니라 전통차도 직접 만드시는 것 같았으며 경양식 종류의 식사도 되는 분위기 좋은 카페입니다.

추석날 하동에 놀러왔다가 이곳에서 점심을 먹었습니다. 추석 당일에도 영업을 하네요. 하동읍에 있구요. 친절한 식당이에요. 재첩국 8천원 재첩전 1만원입니다.

After travelling through the magnificent cherry blossom trees in all its splendour lining the streets of Hadong, we stopped for lunch at River Seomjin Old Story Restaurant.
The first thing that struck my attention was the architectural beauty of the restaurant, especially the thatched roof and jars of fermented soybean paste sitting prettily outside the beautifully landscaped garden. Inside the ambiance was very warm and cosy.
I had the famous shellfish soup for lunch whilst some others had the beef bulgogi. I.was quite surprised to discover that the shellfish in the soup were a tad too small (size of a fingernail) . However, the clear, light and tasty soup made up for the smallness of the shellfish. Eaten together with rice and all the other yummy side dishes made it a very delicious and satisfying meal. The beef bulgogi was also given the "thumbs-up".
Service was prompt and courteous.and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
