Assoyam Beach

I come from Abidjan for Saturday or Sunday lunch sometime, and Assoyam is often where I go
The setting is beautiful and the decor is better than most places - could need a cushion on the chairs though
The food is really good and the service friendly

La Paillote

We did not stay but had breakfast twice and liked the look of the place. Though not busy [out of season] it looked well tended. Food is slightly cheaper that some of the hotels nearby, there are many all along the beach.
Appolinaire was a great, kind waiter and helped us with transport to the airport.
My choice for the next trip to CI.
Anyone thinking of going to CI should note that here, and everywhere, there are many lizards and crabs and crawling things [in town and beach]. This would not suit those who are skittish.

La Taverne Bassamoise

This restaurant has a unique decor, flowers, shells and lots of African statues, especially life size colonel guys, watching you while you eat. The food is standard French, with a touch of Ivoirian (alloco) tasty, a little pricey, but you can eat on the Terrace, in a paillotte or outside under the palms trees, nice soft music, and if you go close enough, an ocean view, a little tourist boutique and pool on the property

Come to Bassam for more than the beach! This artsy restaurant by the lagoon is incredible! Some dishes take awhile to prepare, but they have been worth the wait. While you wait, check out the local artwork or photography as it changes periodically. The food is beautifully plated and every dish is alive with flavors from West Africa. The staff are attentive and very informative about each dish. And if you are an American from the South, you have to try the mashed potatoes-melt in your mouth! Don't forget to tell Luc, the owner, Bonjour!
