History is visible all around Goslar, from well-preserved old houses to the Romanesque imperial palace elevated over the city. Designated a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO, the ore mine at Rammelsberg has been closed since 1988, but now teaches visitors about the more than 100 years of mining that occurred in the Harz mountains.

A 10 across the board, simply sensational!
Weinershnitzel, salad & potatoes. Simple German food but each item was perfectly cooked , seasoned, and absolutely delicious. The veal was delicious, crispy edges and excellent. One of the best salads I’ve ever had.
Pork medallions, potato & Salad. The pork excellent, the potatoes looked like executed by a pastry chef and equally as fantastic.
One bite was better than the next, white glove service..elegant restaurant with top notch service and sensational food, not to be missed!

We ate 3 times here. While the food wasn't the best Italian we have had, it was very good and the service was excellent. Each time were were greeted like friends and well looked after. There is an English menu which is worth asking for, although the specials are hand written and not in English. The staff manage to translate the specials (with enthusiasm) even though it is difficult as their English isn't great (but better than my German). I would highly recommend it - we went back for our anniversary meal there as it was such a friendly place to eat. Maybe a more formal meal would be a more obvious choice but we were made to feel special each time we visited.

It's not your ordinary heavy German food fare. Although it's pretty heavy on the meats, they are wonderfully prepared. My girlfriend really like cooked cabbage, and the rotkohl here was her favorite (she asked them to substitute it into her order instead of something else, they were happy to).
The back of the restaurant is up against a small canal, and if you get a seat by a window you can look out past planters with flowers to the canal. The interior architecture is pretty random and wild, but it's a nice ambiance.
This should be rated best restaurant in Goslar. It was much better than some of the others we ate at that were ranked higher!

Very nice restaurant in the center of the old city. If you want to try local German food, this restaurant is the right place. I ordered schnitzel with noodles and vegetables which was very good. Gose, a top-fermented beer that originated in Goslar, offered here is absolutely good!!!

Kochen mit Lust und Liebe
Visited this restaurant with my wife the some days ago. Good service and food, the menu in English. It have a lot of dishes with porcini, but much less with truffles(but is). Ordered porcini soup of Tuscan style, lamb fillet with fresh truffles and pork...MoreDanke für Ihre positive Bewertung.

For me a must-go place when visiting Goslar. Their beer is really good. I can warmly recommend the beer tasting set with 4 small glasses of beer. A good way to try the selection without getting too much beer (in case you need to drive).
The food selection is good and really tasty.
Prices are reasonable and even a place for kids to play.

After poor food in the hotel we were staying in, I needed good German food. We spotted this restaurant in the middle of the Christmas markets. They have an English menu, which helped! The food was excellent, plenty of it, attentive service also an brilliant choice of beers, some draught! Please give this restaurant a try, you won't be disappointed, the decor is magnificent as well! I recommend.

Bistro
We were tired, so chose the nearest restaurant to our hotel -- Pizza-Plaza -- and ate outside. Our pizzas were full of content, but not very good. We didn’t realize how close the Marktplatz was, full of restaurants, where we could have had a better dinner.

We have just returned from five days in Hanenklee and found this place by chance first for just coffee then for some Goulash and finally a full meal on Christmas night. On every occasion the service was good and the meals were excellent and well priced. I thoroughly recommend it and would return again.
