Yuamiya

Highly recommended to try the cornflakes based ice-cream sundae with onsen egg as topping. Taste matched very well. Ladies could order ‘beauty version’ sundae with extra collagen. Take your ice-cream while soaking in foot spa at entrance of shop is such a unique experience. Milk pudding, self-service steamed onsen eggs are other popular options. Shop also sells craft work by local artist.

They serve interesting dishes. They have an English menu which helped a lot. I had the KEICHAN, a chicken with veggies served in a hot pot with miso sauce. You stir your own while it is cooking and you determine how well-done you want your meal. It was a delicious sizzling dish.

While I stayed in GERO ONSEN, I've tried several restaurants.
and I can tell you that this place is the best!!
if you choose bar seat, you can see how to cook HITSUMABUSHI.
Taste was good, people were kind and atmosphere of restaurant was awesome.
if you are planning to stay in gero onsen, you should visit this place.
oh, just one thing. you might need car or taxi to get this restaurant.

We had a group of 8. The restaurant only has 3 tables so I recommend reserving your time. We had the set menu. It was 6 courses. The stand outs for the night were the blue cheese pizza drizzled with honey and the pork. Everything was wonderful and the service was fantastic. It's small but I'd make the effort to find this little place and have dinner.

Went on 9 Feb, after 830pm, so it was very quiet. The food was delicious and the dining experience was pleasant. However, the staff could hardly speak English. They have Chineses-speaking staff though.

Unexpectedly good western meal. The restaurant was so popular at the time of our visit and some customers who did not make a reservation has to be turned down.

We tried Unasho while staying in the area. It was near our hotel and we walked over and enjoyed a wonderful meal! The unagi bowls were amazing. This is a popular place and you should probably make Reservations as they sometimes run out. Definitely give it a try. Cooked to order so be prepared to sit back relax and wait for it....

Sato-No-Aji Senda

Reviewed By John_Asano - Gifu, Japan

This traditional Japanese restaurant is located close to Gero Station near the Venus Foot Spa. Inside you can sit at either regular tables or on tatami mats with Japanese low tables. The food was amazing and I was very satisfied with my meal. I ordered the Hida Beef Mabushi-don, which is the most popular menu item. It features Hida Beef, green onions and nori (seaweed) in a delicious stock on a bed of rice. The beef was so tender and soft that it literally melted in my mouth. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Gero Onsen.
