We stayed one night at the resort hotel, and had to eat at the restaurant after seeing the reviews. It was Saturday and busy from early, so we were glad to have booked when we checked in.
The menu was a comprehensive list of meat heavy northern dishes and a small fish section.
The portions were enormous, and served hot. The wild boar stew was excellent and tender, but the goat Alambique style was rather greasy and too much fat on the meat. We couldn't finish, but would love to come back but just share one main course. Sadly we had no room for dessert, but the final bill was reasonable and excellent value.

Great Restaurant in a very nice village, Castelo Novo! Delicious traditional food for a great price, very clean and cosy place. Run by a friendly family with great service! Definitely recommend and will come back for sure!

When all the restaurants we were looking for were closed in July, a local on the street recommended this place. It did not disappoint. Excellent service and sea food dishes. More surprising were the innovative vegetarian dishes. For desert, do not miss a gigantic bowl of Fundao cherries in the summer.

A friendly place at a calm location in a small city. The decoration is rustic but nice (the biggest problem is the TV noise). The food was ok, we ordered the speciality which was the veal steak on the stone for sharing (but it is supposed to be an individual dish) . We were a couple and we also ordered a soup, rice, a glass of wine, water and a desert for sharing. We paid €33,00, what I think expensive for the meal that we had.

What a surprise! Situated on the edge of town by swimming pool. Longish walk from centre but taxi's cheap. Ordering was a challenge but staff and owner very helpful. Local white wine was excellent and only 8 euros....bargain!! Very smart restaurant and reasonable prices considering the quality.

went there for lunch..... pizzas bodem quite banal not to say not really tasty and the flavours of the pizzas not really nice; Ingredients are not cooked enough and the cheese is obviously cheap. So no good address, not to be recommended, one of the only place where you can order and pick up in the town though... (they do not deliver)

We went for lunch. It is a simple restaurant, with very simple decor but a very nice staff. We went with our baby girl and Paulo, the waiter, was very kind with her offering kids glass and plate. They have a lunch menu for €7,50 with soup, plate of the day, drink and desert. I had codfish and my husband pork, and both were ok. I think it was a good meal for the money we paid.

Heavy pseudo-italian food. Quality ok price on higher side. No carpaccio or real italian speciality. Bread is good pizzas ok pasta obviously not home nade no fancy recepies..... a goid alternative when u re fed up with bacalhao ?
