Good food, reasonable prices. Nothing bad yet nothing overly special. The $6 Meal Deal can't be beat. Especially at the current US/CAN exchange rate.

Two generously sized pancakes, unfortunately served with margarine, bacon was nice and crispy, eggs just the way I ordered them. A very busy place, nice location across the street from the river. Monte Cristo Sandwich was tasty. Food came out of the kitchen quickly and hot.

Delicious Fish and Chips, our own batter mix, fresh cut home fries every day, coleslaw and tartar are home made, fresh salads, homemade soups, specials every day, eg. Hot sandwiches, meatloaf, Salisbury steak, we also have shrimp and chicken dishes and homemade pies.

Great food at a great price. Not fancy but a must visit for the variety of fish. If you l8ke fish of all types this is a must stop. We always get the deep fried walleye Yum.I'm glad you like our fish like I said I was away for a time due to health reasons but I'm back and everything is getting back to normal thanks for the review

This is absolutely my kind of place. Interesting decor, home baking, good coffee and modest prices.
Get out and support this local Fort Frances business! The staff is friendly and the sandwiches are yummy. My son loved his tea (and the piece of fudge he talked me into buying for him!).
I will definitely make From the Grind Up a stop on my next visit to Fort!

Unfortunately my last experience at this restaurant was not very good. The orange chicken was extremely overcooked. I had eaten here in the past and enjoyed myself but they need a cook who takes care to serve the best possible meal every time. I don't get into town very often, so I prefer to choose a place where I am sure of an excellent meal every time.
