Really good local restaurant which is a little bit away from the centre of Fiumicino. Clearly popular with locals. Excellent seafood - just wish we could have tried more dishes. The mixed dessert plate was absolutely gorgeous - creme brulee, chocolate fondant, Chantilly cream, pannacotta, tiramasu. Lungo macchiatto was excellent as well. Price was modest for what you get. The chef and waitress were both active in the restaurant and were charming, warm people.

Although it is anything BUT a black sheep. Wonderful food with a free pre-starter and free hot doughnut and coffee for afters. Everything is home cooked by this family-run restaurant, so don't expect fast food. DO expect something your Italian grandmother might cook, with Roman style gnocchi, mini fried pizzas and fresh salad ingredients. Will probably eat there again very soon.

Pascucci al Porticciolo

Reviewed By Brad14 - Ottawa, Canada

Pascucci al Porticciolo is a fish restaurant that is a rare find. It is the creation of Gianfranco Pascucci, age 41, a self-taught chef who earned his first Michelin star last year. Such was the rare harmony of flavors and tastes that dining there was pure poetry. Only the freshest of ingredients are used (no farm-raised fish allowed). The menu is too long to detail here. Most dishes are recipes of Pascucci’s invention. But I will say that the tartare of tuna was superb, unlike any I have ever had—as was the swordfish tempura.
As should be expected, prices are high. Expect to pay €100/person before wine, taxes and tips. But very worth the detour for those who love fish and like to eat well. Even those staying in Rome city center should consider traveling out to the Port of Fiumicino for this dining experience with scores of sailboats moored 100 meters away on the Tiber River.

La Scorpacciata

The Scorpacciata offers a simple and genuine dining, oriented mainly to the flavors of the sea, preferring the formula of the tasting menu at a fixed price. This allows us to combine quality and quantity while keeping a price affordable and accessible to all pockets. In addition to the tasting menu, substantial, complete and convenient, you can choose the a la carte menu for those who prefer it.

Despite our pidgin Italian we were made feel like valued locals in La Scorpacciata. The atmosphere was buzzing and the hospitality was warm and welcoming. The fixed menu allowed us to sample an array of wonderful traditional seafood dishes - each offering as if just plucked from the sea. La Scorpacciata gives a flavour of the real Italy; we look forward to returning very soon.

The area is somewhat dull, partly residential, partly seasonal. However, what a positive surprise for us to visit Mamaro'. Nice dinning room, very competent staff, and nice, too.
The menu is strong on seafood, and I highly recommend to go for just that.
I rate the value for money high, and I certainly recumbent this restaurant. You will not be disappointed!

We were staying at the comfort inn and headed here on their recommendation. You pay by the weight and not per slice. Just a few tables outside so you can sit or if you prefer just take away. Lots of locals which is a good sign and after 7 days in Rome we were pleasantly surprised with the taste and quality here. Make sure you get a couple of slices when it comes out hot from the oven.

Restaurant with express cooking, meat specialties, pasta, bread and homemade desserts. At Fiumicino, just a few kilometers from the sea.

We dined here last night and all the reviews are correct. The food is beautiful. We had deep fried meatballs which were very tasty followed by lovely ravioli with tomato and basil. We both had steak and it was delicious. My wife's in particular, the fillet with porcini mushrooms. This is a small Italian cantina style restaurant with a lot of regular visitors dining there. When locals go, you know it is good.
As others have said it is down a side street and is quite unassuming from the outside, as appears to be in a residential area. It will cost you 20 euro each way from the airport in a taxi (we were at the Hilton airport hotel) however is worth the trip. If we are fortunate to return to Rome one day we will definitely be visiting again.

The high trip advisers rating attracted me here and how deserving they were.
Gorgeous Italian couple but only the wife speaks English. I went with her recommendations. I had a starter which was prosciutto and beans that was tasty and a mezze pasta recommendation that was very filling.
Highlight was the wine, half a litre of house red that was surprisingly tasty.
A pan cotta to finish for dessert but wasn't as good as the others.
All up a total of 25€ which was great value for money

Let's cut to the chase. Two appetizers: seafood salad, and a mixed seafood plate; two entrees: fritti mist (fried squid, langoustine and shrimp; two desserts: fantastic chocolate cake, melting on the plate and a lemon sorbet. Plus one bottle of sparkling water and one bottle of wine (13 euros!). Total 58 euros. Seafood was terrific. This is not a high end snooty restaurant. This is a restaurant populated by Italians in the neighborhood. So it has to be economical and deliver the taste. And it delivers. And a bottle of wine for 13 euros?!! A fantastic deal. This is a bang for the bucks place.
