After having been given the "brush-off" at another restaurant we went here. Monday is a busy night for restaurants in this area it seems, as so many are closed. Regardless, the hostess found a place for us and the waitress Bethina was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We had Allgauer Buble Edelbier- very good. I had the Braumeister Teller, my wife the Swallmerl Teller. Outstanding! She remarked on her amazement how German food is not rated on par with other cuisines, such as French. Go here and be well served.

We bumped into this restaurant during an afternoon stroll in Oberstdorf, quickly checked Tripadvisor and based on the positive feedback decided to go for lunch here. We were welcomed in the most friendly was and checked if they would be able to serve one vegan meal as well, no problem! The kids got their stuffies to do some drawings, we always enjoy that as well. The (beautiful) hostess, who runs the restaurant with her husband who's the chef, had inquired in the kitchen what was possible and suggested a pasta dish with veggies as a vegan option. I always agree with suggestion but obviously this can go many ways but it was delicious! The others also got generous dishes that were equally enjoyed. The combination of great food and super service always works for me, combined with the traditional Bavarian inside of the place makes this one a winner for me.

It's a great place for food. And in case you were planning on drinking a little extra ... they have a couple of nice appartments just in the neighbouring house.

You need to book, it was very busy. We had reserved a table for my wife's birthday. Great local beer and outstanding food. Service was great and you are not rushed. Great atmosphere, we will be back for a music night.

We come here often and are always welcomed by friendly staff, usually Monica, the owner who personally supervises everything. The menu offers a good choice and the food is consistently excellent. Not as heavy as some traditional Bavarian food. The owner and some staff speak excellent Engish!

Firstly we visited without Reading the reviews!
The restaurant is in the main street 5 mins from the station in this small town. No car park (but easy to park locally) and inside Seating downstairs , small outside area on side of main street.
It was a hot night and they had a good range of regional food and a small Seating area outside which was really busy . service was good and price reasonably . Regional house wine nice and Bayern beir is the best ! Food very good and big Bayern portion , in short we all had a great meal (3 of us) . so for us we would go back it was that good , will be interested what others now think.

Dropped in and got a table for 4. Meal was lovely service excellent and humorous. Menu available in English which is a bonus and option of having a smaller portion on some courses suited me. Good value for money food is delicious and tasty

I originally found this restaurant when looking for places that offer gluten free food.
They do and the stuff they serve is delicious. In two different vacations we have now been there about ten times ;-) They serve "local" dishes of which the baked Bergkäse is my favorite. The portions are good, so no need for a starter. Especially given they have some very nice Deserts.
I would advise you to make an reservation. Especially if you need gluten free, you have to order one day earlier. If you do, you can get nearly everything on their menu gluten free, which is awesome.

Restaurant Inizio Pizza and pasta pleasure in Tiefenberg within walking distance of the Sonnenalp Resort. Enjoy time together with us by sipping an excellent glass of wine, by tasting the homemade pasta dishes or sampling one of the Mediterranean salads or antipasti variations in our cozily furnished restaurant rooms. During the warm summer months there are shady places on the outside Terrace that invite you to stay. Marvelous home-baked cakes and sweets from the Sonnenalp confectionery complement the culinary offer at weekends. For more than 10 years the trainees of the Sonnenalp Resort have impressed their guests with a friendly and personal service. We attach great importance to a well-balanced price-performance ratio. The Inizio also offers some of the dishes and all pizzas as take-away meals.

My wife and me went to the Inizio are really liked it. It's run by the appretices of the next door Sonnenalp. You really feel that they like what they do and have that special enthusiasm about it. The food was good with two minor issues (the bruchette soaked by the salat dressing and a little saltyness in the sauce) but we really enjoyed the evening and will come back once we are in that area.

Not sure which was the best: view, food, or service!!
Soft Sherpa blankets on beautiful wooden carved benches, indoor and outdoor dining overlooking stunning mountain scenery. Local caught venison was so tender you could cut it with a fork; and the Goulash....YUM was also outstanding, as was the tomato soup and chocolate cake.
Dogs welcomed and treated to their own bowls. Families welcomed on their way hiking through the countryside.
I'd come back here in a heartbeat if I were to visit the area again. It's a short and scenic drive slightly outside of town, but don't let this deter you from finding the place ...as you are in for quite a treat!
