I think this tiny ice cream shop is the #1 rated eatery in Fairfax. Mind you, they have some delish ice cream, but nothing you've never had at several dozen other places, quality-wise. Sure,if you're in the mood for some ice cream, go for it. But I don't see a particular wow factor here, at least relative to other ice cream shops.

We went as a family group of six and were most impressed by the ambience of the restaurant.
I loved the touch when each member of our party was given a scoop of parmesan cheese from half a wheel on the counter before we ordered.
Prompt, friendly service.
While I felt my calamari with penne pasta could have done with more calamari and a lot less penne, it was very tasty. Other members had, among other things, the lasagne which my wife declared to be the best lasagne she has ever had in a restaurant, and that includes Italy.
The only criticism of the lasagne was that the serves were excessive in size, so if you go there and want to order this, be prepared to take a lot home.
Would be more than happy to eat there again.

We make our own pastas, butchering, bread, pastries... we make extensive use of wholesome local and Italian ingredients and even grow several of our fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables and raise our own eggs in a state certified facility. We like to be wholesome, it's hard work, but like chef Valenti says "after all, I do eat here everyday!" Our wine list is crafted around our cuisine, so we feature mostly Northern Italian wines some of which you'll be thrilled to discover. On any given day we have at least 20 wines by the glass and on-tap from $6 and up.

If you can get a reservation, though somewhat expensive, a dinner here is well worth it. Everything about our dining experience was wonderful. The menu dishes are not the ordinary fare. Our dinner was well prepared and presented. Our server took care of our needs without being intrusive. There was no rushing, we spent two hours there with our friends.

Several family members were staying at Fairfax inn (separate review) and went to the roastery for coffee and pastries for four mornings. The repeat visits were the testimonial on how good everything tasted: scones, croissants, coffee, etc. would recommend coming here for a light start to your day.

This place rocks. The staff is fantastic. Use only top-quality organic ingredients. Salads, sandwiches, fantastic pastries and great bread. Really good mochas and coffee also. Ham and cheese croissants, almond croissants, Basque cake, flourless chocolate cake are among my favorites.

This beautifully appointed cozy restaurant is a foodie delight and truly transports me back to many wonderful Puerto Rican memories. The atmosphere is fun and the decor is too including a wall of old doors. Food so good I returned two days in a row before leaving town! Try the Huevos Benedictos over tostones— nice wheat free diversion made to perfection! Day 2 back for a Jamon y Queuso sandwich on tostones....plus a Cafe Helado. Adorable fun atmosphere and long lines to get in so go early— recommend 11 am. Metered parking but a few blocks away are free 2- hour spots and the train is close by too. Cute downtown area for walking and people watching.

You'll like food here. Can be tight if you have a large party. Staff very attentive. Food portions are big, fresh and delicious. I think the owner is constantly zooming around to make sure everything is moving nicely. Parking lot is just across street, so very handy. Friendly place. Other family members had breakfast there the same day and raved about it.

Known for their famously delicious chicken salad...we love the tofu version...you can also eat here for breakfast or lunch...inside or out. Hard working staff. Lines form at the takeout counters for a reason...good choices abound! Goes pretty fast and staff is friendly. A San Anselmo treasure!

Came for a Holiday luncheon in this historic, charming Inn in a residential neighborhood in central San Rafael. Quaint restaurant with inside, patio and covered outside dining. The place was very busy and a little noisy, but it transpired the Holiday mood in a larger city. Very friendly hostess and my reservation was honored immediately even seating us at a bigger table. Good choice menu. I can recommend the Panama burger. Nicely poured, good quality local and foreign wines. Prompt and professional service. Reasonable prices. Overall a very pleasant experience. They also have sophisticated life music on weekday evenings. Will be back for dinner and entertainment.

I love their high quality teas, healing herbal medicine, cold uplifting Elixirs and the Kava offerings made fresh daily. Also their hot chocolate is just amazing. They also offer fantastic selection of hot Bone broths prepared with various spices.This wonderful relaxing spot has become my second home in Fairfax!
