Called in for a light lunch. We thought the fillings quite meagre for the relatively expensive cost of the Sandwich, the fresh juices were also double the price we paid in Leon. Thought the place generally looked a little tired.
Very disappointed given the positive reviews seen previously.

Went for dinner here recently during a business stay in Esteli.
First time visit and it was a nice surprise. You can sit both inside and outside and the patio area is nice. Service is good and even though not all cuts were available the quality of the meat is good.
All together a good place to have dinner when you are in Esteli!

Great hang out. And by great hang out what I mean is outdoor Seating, indoor Seating, live music, delicious irish coffees, oh and did I mention the DELICIOUS Irish coffees??? Come here during the day to study, come here at night to enjoy the music and hang out with friends, trust me, you'll enjoy yourself... if you're not, well, then, have another Irish coffee!

There are actually two location across the street from each other. I am sure this is a testiment to how much the locals like this place, and for good reason:
Friendly staff;
Clean (and we ate in the older location.. the new one is just as clean);
Inexpensive... probably the least expensive meal we have enjoyed in Nicaragua;
Good tasting food. I mean really good tasting food.
Like most fretanga (fonda) style restaurants ypu get to choose what you want and you pay accordingly. The chicken was fantastic. They also have a small selection of salad dressing unlike most places I have been to. What impressed us was how everything that left the kitchen was completely covered until it reached the serving area.
For the price (and quality AND taste), you really can't beat this place.

We sat outside on the Terrace. The perfect place to watch the world go by.
The waiters were very attentive and the food was excellent.
I had chicken with ham and cheese in with mushroom sauce and it was delicious. Hubby had steak with Nicaraguan parsley sauce, he said it was the best steak he had tasted, even better than Brazil.
Main courses for three and a few beers and water was about 1500 Cordoba. A bit on the pricey side but the portions were large and the food was good, so worth it for a treat

Cuban-style cooking with a lot of Nicaraguan favorites. Enclosed restaurant downstairs, open air patio upstairs. True, not exactly a vegetarian place, but there is a huge vegetable soup with lots vegetables in it. I ate here 3 times with friends and family, and people enjoyed the shrimp dishes, the grilled fish, and the Cuban lechon (pork). A great choice in Esteli, a few blocks south of the main square on the street that goes in front of the Cathedral. I have actually eaten here for years, every time I am in Esteli.

We heard about this place from a local and after a few missed turns we arrived! So happy we found it and after eating and enjoying the peaceful surroundings...we picked up some wonderful fresh herbs and spices to take along to our beach house getaway, to cook up some homecoo ked meals.

I am staying nearby and have eaten there several times now. It's always busy (at dinnertime, that is - I've never been for breakfast or lunch) Basic Nica food, but very fresh and tasty. Generous portions, reasonable prices and friendly service. If you need a break from gringo food...
