Excellent Greek BYOB restaurant with limited off-street parking. Cheerful decor with blue and white checkered tablecloths. Nice selection of authentic and tasty Greek dishes on menu. Nearby liquor store that sells Greek wine. Very good service. Fair and competitive prices. We went there with another couple to give them an introduction to Greek food in advance of a trip to Greece. We went without reservations for a late lunch, but the place was filling up as we left, so reservations are probably a good idea.

This isn't on Main Street so sometimes it gets lost in the shuffle, but this place has been around and it is real good Italian. It probably is the best Italian food in Metuchen, which shows as many places have opened and closed while Torino is getting more busy as the years go on. Have had a few meals and everyone have been good. People there are always very nice and accommodating.

Al Dente

Reviewed By MarkRMetuchen - Metuchen

Al Dente is one of the finest Italian restaurants in N.J., but few know it. The problem is every Italian restaurant has the same menu, organized into humdrum categories: pasta, veal, chicken, fish, etc. What distinguishes Al Dente from nearly all others is the phenomenal high quality of the food, the wonderful flavors and perfect temperatures and textures of what is delivered to your table. We've NEVER been disappointed here. What prevents us from frequenting Al Dente year round is the noise in the main dining room and the inability of the restaurant to deliver comfortable temperatures in winter and summer. My personal hope is enough of us give Al Dente the rating it deserves to generate enough income to improve the comfort levels when the temperatures outdoors are extreme. This place is good! By the way, the bar is romantic and cozy, so if you're party is loud, please stay outside in the dining room which is already loud. If you're Al Dente, add linens, foam, tapestry, and anything to absorb some of the sound Americans make while dining.
