Parrilla de San Miguel

Best place to eat in Eagle Pass. You have to get the fried stuffed mushrooms (champiñon bombis) but be warned, they come 10 to an order so they’re a whole meal by yourself. Other Mexican fare is good, except I’m pretty sure there’s no tequila in the margarita I had.

Mezquite Restaurant

Food was hot and tasty. We had ordered a BLT and a hamburger. Both delicious. Service was a little slow. Waited 15 minutes to order and another 15 to get our bill. There was only 4 others in the restaurant at the time. But I would recommend eating here, if you're not in a hurry.

Fuddruckers

This establishment is consistent with other Fudruckers in other cities. If you have never been to a Fudruckers you should come try one of their burgers. They are consistently delicious. Also, the salads with grilled chicken here are top notch. The service was very good when I visited.

Whataburger

Ordered #5 Bacon Cheeseburger W/grilled onion/peppers ON side. Received order, took one bite, had NO CHEESE,NO BACON & grilled onion/peppers were on burger. Took back to counter. Showed receipt, the girl asked "you had #5?!? (she even took the order). The manager shrugged his shoulders & said oh, guess they just forgot. Waited 6 minutes (I'm thinking "oh they are remaking the order) ONLY for them to bring back SAME cold burger w/cold slice of cheese & STILL NO BACON. My onion rings are cold by then & I'm sure that SAME burger is also. All the MANAGER said WAS sorry. I asked for a refund. Sad part is I looked forward to eating at WhatABurger ALLDAY.

Rodee's Country Fried Chicken

Reviewed By Jeorge P - Piedras Negras, Mexico

My god, as I write this... I'm in the mood for Chicken!! Fried Chicken that is. I love the flavor and at Rodee's Chicken! (it's very unique and DELICIOUS) While you're there, order some Mollejas de Pollo, dip them in sauce and start filling your stomach..you won't regret it!
Gotta tell you something, I usually order more then I can eat, so most of the time I take a box with leftover chicken. But you know, you get home... you put it in the fridge and after a day or two you warm it up in the oven (never in a microwave!), and usually it doesn't taste the same right? it has that leftover flavor. After 2,3, even 4 days... Rodee's Chicken really does taste as good as if you had just ordered it! Don't know
why, don't know how...but is true! AMAZING! I love it.

Border Burgers

This is a small, family-owned business that is literally a block or two from the Mexican border. It is one of those places that is fun to visit that you would never find unless you talked to a local. The phone number is 830-757-2260.

Border Burger is a small, family owned business in downtown Eagle Pass that is located about two blocks from the Mexican border. It is housed in a small, unobtrusive building (the street number is not posted on the building) and is located between two equally unobtrusive buildings on busy East Garrison Street. The small eating area inside is plain and so-so clean (try not to stare at the ceiling fan); it is a "bus-your-own table" establishment. Be forewarned- if you are at all concerned about the fat and calorie content of your meal, this is not the place for you! The menu consisits of burgers, tacos, one type of burrito, as well as sides such as French fries, nacho chips and onion rings- smothered in cheese, if you wish. They serve sweet-but-tart lemonade (in addition to sodas), which compliments the food nicely. My favorite item is the red taco (3 for $2; 3 for $1.87 without the artificial color); I like them soft, but observed that many other patrons order these yummy corn tacos fried. The most expensive item on the menu is the jalapeno burger, at $3.89. You may have to wait a few minutes for your meal, as the food is prepared to order. Border Burger has a brisk drive-thru business, so be careful as you approach and leave the property. There is no parking on the premises, but street parking is not a problem. I recommend this place for a tasty, albeit high calorie, lunch in a no-frills place frequented by locals.
