Đồng Hới ( listen) is the capital city of Quảng Bình Province in the north central coast of Vietnam. The city's area is 155.71 km (60.12 sq mi). Population as per the 2013 census was 160,000. It is served by National Highway 1A, the Đồng Hới Railway Station, and airport. By road, Đồng Hới is 486 kilometres (302 mi) south of Hanoi, 195 kilometres (121 mi) south of Vinh, 160 kilometres (99 mi) north of Huế and 1,204 kilometres (748 mi) north of Hồ Chí Minh City. It borders Quảng Ninh District on the west and south, the South China Sea on the east, Bố Trạch District on the north.

First, when we arrived the sign on the door said "closed" but many people were eating inside so it was a bit confusing. It took a while before our order was taken and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. I ordered fried chicken with fries. When I got my food, there was one chicken leg and about six fries on my plate. I waited a bit for my girlfriend to be served, but after 5 minutes I started before it got cold... Finally I managed to finish my tiny plate way before my girlfriend got hers about 10 minutes later. My food was decent, but my girlfriend did not like hers. Kids were running and screaming everywhere in the place so overall let's say it was not the best experience at all...

We're a backpackers Hostel, Pub and Restaurant located in Dong Hoi City in front of the Nat Le River with spectacular views, near the Beach and Bus Station (only 15 min walk). <br>WITH CHECK INN YOU GET A FREE BEER!!!!!!<br>The Hostel consist of 5 dormitory rooms: 3 with 6 individual beds and 2 with 4 individual beds. We also have 2 private rooms with a double bed. They all include A/C and FAN, WIFI and HOT WATER.<br>The Pub and Restaurant is opened practically all day with food service from 7:30h to 23:00h (western and Vietnamese food). We have free pool table and darts, you can play your own music, enjoy the evening with a nice cold beer on the Terrace, try one of our coktails or food from our menu.<br>We also organize Bus and Train Tickets. <br>We're 6km from Airport and 40 Km from Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. <br>We would be more than happy if you decide to come and stay with us, our staff is very friendly

Went for dinner, steak was great with chips and salad . Beer was cold.
Ke was amazing she helped us book a bus to Hue. She is a fantastic young lady who is very friendly and very kind. Ke has a great Aussie Ascent MAAaate. If you feeling like a relaxed place for a beer and steak this is the place to be.

Ca Phe Nguoi Om Cay - translating into 'Tree Hugger Cafe' in English - is a small coffee shop set close to the Nhat Le River and the Tam Toa church in Dong Hoi City. The Cafe arose out of the idea to create a space for Dong Hoians and visitors alike, for small discovery, for Reading, for soaking up the surrounding atmosphere, for day-dreaming and, indeed, for enjoying fresh drinks and cafe. Our menu also includes all-day breakfast as well as some simple food options. We are also happy to provide information on local restaurants nearby as well as on how to get around individually or on tours available in the area. We are still a young venture and are trying to improve our services, our information provision as well as our 'daily pro-environmental behavior' day by day.

I arrived in Vietnam thinking it would be a food heaven for veggies but couldn't have been more wrong!
I couldn't believe his amazing place in a little slightly off the tourist track city of Dong Hoi! Food was delicious with proper protein for veggies rather than just the usual vegetables! Service was a little slow but they gave me a 20 percent discount for the wait. Well worth a visit if you happen to find yourself in Dong Hoi.

This place is so cheap! Noodles are the best I've had in Vietnam. Staff are friendly. We had a girl wait on us who was learning English at university so she was happy to practice on us but she wasn't overbearing. Music playing and a movie screen. Board games to take to your table. A great start to Dong Hoi!

Loved the place, it’s a real gem in a cosy “holiday setting” as you can choose between indoor and outdoor Seating. I prefer outside at the bar, lovely under the palm tree leaf roof sipping a Vietnamese coffee (or a cocktail as they upgraded their bar!!!) and watching the Hue chef preparing your food (open kitchen), what can be Western, Vietnamese or even Thai food (or made by order). Those people who know Hue style (emperor City) food will agree that it’s among the wides range of different style food and VERY delicious! So, thumbs up for the chef!
Chef went to the market in the morning, so expect super-fresh food! Sometimes they even do outdoor BBQ! Loved the fresh seafood!
One word to the lovely super-active-busy owner, she’s always helpful even if you come with all kind of „extra wishes“, will definitely miss her a lot and hope to see her again one day for tasting the good Thai curry and the Vietnamese food gems!

this is a good place to try the famous vietnamese hotpot. different versions are available (including one with frogs) but we chose the chicken with aganonerion herb hotpot, which was very good, despite the chicken being a bit bony. the herbs, greens, shiitake mushrooms and glass noodles are cooked on the spot and make this dish special. the restaurant staff spoke no english and it made communication tricky especially as they insisted that the hotpot would be too big for 2 people and we insisted that we wanted to try it. in the end, nothing that our translating app couldn't fix and the staff showed us diligently how to do it.

My wife and I have gone here a couple times now and like the environment (surrounded by water, walking bridge to restaurant, etc.). We were disappointed to see a couple large rats when we went in the evening. Because it is mostly open to the outside, I don't think they can do much about it, but it didn't help our appetite. We will go back for coffees though.

This place was hands down the highlight of staying in dong hoi .. We stayed in dong hoi for 3 nights and went to this place every night and had an amazing night each time ... Whether it's for chilling playing pool downstairs to hip hop music / whatever song you want to play on the laptop ... or upstairs to chart music lots of nice cocktails and beer ... But the real gem of this place is the owner Dinh who is always happy to have new people in his bar and goes out of his way to meet everyone and make sure they are enjoying their time not only in the bar but their whole trip in dong hoi itself ... He helped us with many problems we had finding places in the area and booking hotels he really went out of his way to help us and is a true gentleman .❤️

We went there for lunch and end up staying till late. Great atmosphere and the owner of the bar was so amazing with us. He invited for bbq, helped to arrange the trip to phong nha caves as well booked bus tickets to Hanoi for very reasonable price (without taking commission from us). He made our Vietnam experience even more memorable. Thank you! BTW great food ;)
