Firstly, if you search by the name Benne Dosa restaurant, several restaurants show up. Full name is Sri Guru Kottureshwara Butter Dosa Hotel. It is bang opposite JJM Medical college. Visited on Sunday morning enroute Hubli from Bangalore. Take a detour into the town and ask for directions. We were taken aback by the huge rush and had to wait 45 minutes before being served. Dosas were good - Rs. 70/- for 2 in a plate and were cooked on a wood fired burner. Coconut chutney was also good. If you do not mind the calories, go for them. Hygiene may not be appealing, but noting wrong with the Benne Dosas.

it was late in the evening and having decided not to eat at the hotel restaurant (Janatha Deluxe Lodge) we came across this restaurant.
The choice was good. but at the time that were went, it was almost closing time. We ordered Soup, Roti and vegetables. The serving portions were quite substantial. The rotis were good but the soup was average. I think it is better to stick to Indian fare here. they are good at that.

This restaurant was recommended to me, so I had great expectations and was extremely disappointed. The food itself was not that bad, but nothing extraordinary. What really was unacceptable was the bad attitued of our waiter. True, we came for late lunch at 2:30pm, were told to sit down anywhere, There were only few seats occupied, we ordered veg food but to my surprise the food was kept at our desk after 25 mins and that too the waiter was like "help yourself, i am too busy to serve you".
Visit this place if you want to experience a terrible service.
Needless to say, I shall never return to this place....

Again one more place in Davangere to enjoy it's local delicacy, the sabji is white but again amazing in taste. Also chutney tastes amazing. The benne dosa is amazing which is for sure. Amazing local food. Please check restaurant timings and go to avoid disappointment.

Very tasty delicious butter dosa prepared traditionally. A restaurant with long heritage. But the restaurant is not upgraded to current construction, still it is maintained in its original state of old building. Long waiting times, since they have very limited seats, but worth the wait.

A small outlet on the church street, it is easy to miss unless you are specifically looking for it. However with local population, the place is obviously famous seeing from the crowd. Limited Seating is available which is just functional. It is a sight to see the famous dosa's being made right in front of our eyes. Crisp. Delectable hot dosa's are a delight to enjoy. Served with tasty chutney and potato mash, the tasty dosa's leave a long memory
