Went here with a coworker and really enjoyed the meal. They were having an anniversary special, which meant that prices for the evening meal were significantly reduced. I had some salads, several fantastic steaks and meats (especially liked the lamb), and maybe a few bites that weren't my favorites... I suppose it didn't help that I wasn't always 100% sure what I was getting since my Spanish is a bit rusty. I didn't try many of the desserts that they had out but they looked ok.

We were surely the only gringos in a place with near 100 tables. The service was great, the atmosphere comfortable and the food was the best mariscos I have had in awhile. I had the grilled Huachinango and it was more than I could finish (but i did anyway).

This place has great atmosphere and an extremely attentive staff. The crab salad was great, but the rice and seafood stew had either been overcooked, frozen and then reheated, started with seafood that was past its prime, or some combination of the above. Ironically, we had the same dish the night before at a little mom and pop hole in the wall in the town up the road a few hours that is the namesake of this restaurant...Alvarado...and it was head and shoulders above this. I'm willing to chalk it up to an off night, but be careful.
