Bistro la Roux

Chef owned and food made to order. Chef Tim from Louisiana serving up authentic Louisiana cuisine and bringing the New Orleans experience to Minnesota. Live Jazz and Blues on Friday and Saturday, no cover. Great selection of craft beer and wine.

I live near this restaurant and had never been there. I met a friend there for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The place was packed but the service was good and so was the food. It's a smaller place, even though they just expanded in the last year but it's worth a try.

Carbone's Pizzeria

Reviewed By Eric W - United States

I am a pizza fanatic. I mean I really, really love pizza. Carbone's makes their pizza in the Chicago school. I tried the thin crust and I was really impressed with it!

Now, thin crust is tricky. Normally, it is crispy. Carbone's is so thin that it is a very flimsy. This does not make it a bad pizza, I thought it delicious. But, it is not very filling. I quickly devoured half a large pizza.

They also serve a deep dish, which I will try next time.

The setting of this restaurant is that of a log cabin. It is very small on the inside, and you will think your eating at your cabin by the lake.

I was impressed and will go back more often.

This location always has great staff. Their coffees from worldwide locations are excellent. They roast in house which adds to the ambiance. I wish they had more gluten free items, maybe in the future. Recently during a traumatic event for me, the woman who waited on me was more than compassionate and helpful. Hats off to great service. I will continue my loyal patronage and spread the word.

Not normally what I would look for sushi in a small town, but it is really really good. Highly recommend the Devil Roll. Yum! As well, they have a happy hour menu from 2-5 pm I believe. Great pricing.

We recently moved to Blaine, Minnesota and while roaming around our new territory we spotted this restaurant nearby. Upon moving, we had to give up our favorite little cafe. This looked like a possible replacement for our favorite little, so we tried it out for breakfast. WOW! It's an older family-owned and operated establishment that gives an impression of a small town cafe. The staff was friendly and speedy, the food was tasty and quick and the portions were huge! We will definitely go there again and we are looking forward to trying it for meals at other times of the day.

El Loro Lexington

Reviewed By Larry M - Loudon, Tennessee

Yes, Mexican restaurants now seem to be on every street corner and in every strip mall, but the trick is finding a really good one. By good, I don't just mean good food, I mean comfort, cleanliness, and enough ventilation fans working in the kitchen so the entire restaurant doesn't reek so bad you have to change your clothes when you leave.

El Loro checks off all these boxes, especially in cleanliness, spaciousness, no kitchen odors, exceptional food and service. The only thing I though was sorely lacking was the quality of the salsa that came with the chips. It wasn't bad tasting, it just had a "odd" taste. It was definitely not as good as most of the other good Mexican restaurants to which I've been. And let's face it, dipping chips into salsa is what you spend a lot of time doing at a Mexican restaurant. While talking about salsa, this is the first Mexican restaurant I've been to (and that's probably 50+) that also served a white salsa with the chips that tasted like a tart ranch dressing that belonged with a plate of veggies (no, not the white cheese salsa...this had no cheese in it at all). I didn't like it, but perhaps other folks do.

Overall, El Loro is a great place to eat. Ample parking and a very large and comfortable interior

I have tried this locations many many times and swear I will never return again but keep getting pulled in by the demon caffeine. The service here is awful. Slow service with bad attitude, uninformed about their product, boiling their green tea, dirty bathrooms. Once after being handed an open top boiling tea another person bumped into me spilling it all over my hand and arm, I raced to the bathroom for cold water, no one even took the time or effort to check on me. Recently on a Saturday morning spent 17 minutes waiting at the drive thru for 4 cars. I am done with this location for good. Oh but the coffee is good.

Blue Collar Barbeque

We had ribs and brisket. They are served "dry" style, with a choice of sauces. The food has a nice smoked flavor. We thought the meet was dry and the portions are not large. Would have preferred baby back ribs which can be a little more moist.
