Monical's Pizza of Centralia

Monical's has the best pizza in town. The service is incredibly fast. Your salad is delivered by the time you sit down and the pizza isn't far behind. If you like thin cracker crust pizza, you will not be disappointed. Try the Italian special. I do miss the Russian dressing but the salad is always incredibly fresh.

I ordered the chicken salad with freshly grilled croissant and fresh vegetables served with dill dip. The chicken salad was delicious with grapes and nuts, seemed freshly made. I waited a very short time, maybe five minutes service was excellent, despite the rush of orders within the restaurant as well as many carry outs.
The shopping experience in the antique store was awesome. A wide variety of antiques were available ...from primitives to depression glass to antique furniture And so much more.

My friends and I ate here every Tuesday night for over a year. Once I wanted a salad but they said they were out. There is no consistency in how they make the sandwiches. I ordered a chicken sandwich on three separate occasions and got three different sandwiches. The service inside is slow because they serve the drive through first. Then they discontinued a lot of our favorite menu items but told us the truck did not come in. After a month or so we figured out they just discontinued the items. The last time we went in there, they said the kitchen was closed, but we could have ice cream. I have never gone back.

Rail Coffee Room

Centralia has so little, and Rail is a lovely addition to our selections. I am not a Super coffee person, but I enjoy the lunch and dinner selections. Check their Facebook page for the very limited lunch and small bites menu as it changes each day. They do very little, but what they do they do very, very well. Centralia has a rich history as a train city and Rail pays homage to this. It is a wonderful addition to this little burg. I recommend any cheese sandwich with spicy chips. I’ve never had a bad dessert. Breakfast and small bites are delicious, too!

Centralia House

The New York Strip topped with gouda cheese and Bordelaise was absolutely wonderful!! All the flavors were savory and blended so well!!! My husband had Red beans and rice with Andouille sausage and it also got rave reviews from him!! I had vegetable beef soup for an appetizer; it was the best vegetable beef soup I've ever eaten, very savory and with large pieces of beef. We had Bananas Foster over vanilla ice cream for dessert and although not as good as found in New Orleans, it was very tasty and I would definitely order it again! They flame it at your table, which my kids really enjoyed! The atmosphere is so charming--upscale yet cozy at the same time. Rich dark reds and golds mixed perfectly well with the dark wood of the interior. Very relaxing. We had reservations and were greeted and seated immediately. This was our first time dining here and so our waitress shared the history of the place with us which was quite interesting. I really enjoyed the pianist who played soft jazz throughout our entire meal, even entertaining my children with the theme song from the "Peanuts" (Charlie Brown). When I complemented him, he easily struck up a conversation with me as if we were old friends!! How refreshing!! We rode the amtrak there and were dependent on it to return to our prior destination. When it was delayed 2 hours, and cold and dark outside, the waitress offered us a small cozy room with a television for our children and even gave us the remote! The staff checked in on us from time to time, asking if we needed anything to drink, and we also had some nice conversation with them! I absolutely LOVED this place -- the food, the charm, the decor, the ambiance, the staff -- all wonderful A++ . We will be back!! If we do utilize the amtrak next time, we will most likely return when it is warm, so we can walk to the nice park they have in town there if the amtrak is late. Kudos, Centralia House! We love you!!!

Nice neighborhood place, good food, reasonable prices and very clean. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. One warning though, if you are a Cubs fan you may get indigestion. This place is full of great Cardinal's baseball memorabilia. So leave your Cub's hat in the car, have fun and enjoy the food!

Super friendly people. Older place, but food was very reasonable and very hot. Will definitely return when we're in the area.

Tequila Mexican Restaurant

For over 20 years, we've been serving home style Mexican food. Our menu features favorites such as: delicious dips, enchiladas, chimichangas, burritos, and of course, sizzling fajitas. We also have burgers, chickens, steaks and a kid's menu. Best of all, we take pride in making everything very affordable. So come down and enjoy something for the whole family!

I always enjoy Tequila's if I'm in town. The portions are hearty and the food is consistently good. I don't always stick to the same order and each menu item I've had has been really good. The service is usually pretty friendly so no complaints there. I also rarely drink, but I find their classic margaritas on the rocks to be excellent. Good place to good for comfort food without breaking the bank.
